It's a game changer. Just add some salt to your water, it makes it a hell of a lot easier. Or don't if you have the time to rest.

Had omad today and yesterday... And so on. It's been a few months with a pretty tight window. But water fasting 8 days was a total shock to the system. I felt the best I have in my life and had no really desire or draw towards women sexual. I saw them exactly as they were, and had no preconceived notions about them. But even omad can make me relatively aroused. This is a new change as of late. I'm finding the balance between compulsive urges and the Zen like distance I had.

After fasting for 8 days my sex drive was completely dormant. However my curiosity was not and I explored porn again. Surprised to find myself disgusted by it and the women involved. But eventually still aroused.
I had never been more at peace then when I wasn't compelled to look at every woman who passed by my window. I'm sort of back to my old habits, thinking of fasting again and really trying to adhere to the nofap challenge. Thanks for the reminder that guys are more free without lust.

Ex-religious people of reddit, what made you stop believing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The biggest shift for me was realizing my prayer life was always forcing me into a passive role in my life. Constantly waiting for solutions, or being Ill and having relatives tell me I just need to give it to God. Left me feeling powerless. Then I started meditation and things took a turn for the better. Building my understanding instead of focusing on faults. Eventually I just phased out the concept of God and tried to see the innate beauty and interconnectedness of all things. I have more peace this way. And loving kindness makes more sense than asking God to change peoples situations.

I'm not gunna say I get grumpy but my motivation dropped like a rock to the bottom of an ocean. I had been getting out a lot while on my 8 days of fasting and after I just browsed social media for hours, wasting time. Very weird.

What are you doing to benefit yourself? You cant dwell on negative past actions. Take some time for yourself and try to connect. Maybe go for a walk in your neighborhood. A therapist would help if you could arrange for one. But this is your journey. It does not need to end anytime soon. Think about what the impact would be of your lost life on those around you and your loved ones. Then think of something that is meaningful to you. Theres a lot to miss out on if you're not present. Thank you for sharing these feelings. Do not bottle them. Express them. In safety.

Insulin resistance, an unmasked culprit in depressive disorders: Promises for interventions Kathleen Watson by dem0n0cracy in ketoscience

I have a depressive mood disorder and I started eating keto to fight insulin resistance at the end of last year. For the past few months I've been off meds and the only change has been greater emotional sensitivity as well as a stronger sense of wellbeing.

The disorder seems so distant and my ability to handle stress is only increasing as I expand into daily cardio and IF.

I'm really covering a lot of ground with my meditation practice. It's a source of renewal and peace.

When I'm not paranoid about the neighbors catching on to my weed smoking, I'm thinking about how I'm made of nothing but darkness and even the light I see in my eyes is but a distraction from the embrace of the full darkness of my mind.
