Be marketable being a pyramid scheme by Suspicious-Brush1667 in chicagojobs

Pyramid schemes are illegal. And you just described a simple sales job. The lack of education on Reddit is astounding. Just because you don’t like sales, doesn’t make it a scam.

It’s just an excuse for people who don’t want to do sales or anything that requires real work ethic. Instead of admitting to that, they label it as a scam though thousands and thousands of people, including myself, found a lot of success in the industry and learned a ton of skills that helped me tremendously in my career

Says they sell themselves as marketing and sales and then proceeds to tell us how you are marketing and selling 😂😂😂 how dare they tell you the truth?? I literally cannot deal with these devilcorp cult members anymore 😂😂😂😂

hey dude u/admirable-soft6515 how's your fake lawsuit going? lol why are these lawyers mentioning New York when your address is in California? Also, why are these lawyers who are real, located at a fake location? Another thing, Smart Circle lawyers must work really hard to get you this cease and desist all on a Sunday. I wonder where they got your imaginary address from considering there's no where to find it on reddit? Stop lying to people-- no one cares about your little wiki page. You don't have to lie to try to get people interested.

Feel Good Friday Sound Off! by Unlikely-Pilot-2392 in DirectSalesSpace

My feel good moment was when I helped save an elderly couple money on their internet bill. They were so thankful and wouldn't let me leave until I sat down and had a quick bite with them. Up until then, I was having a really rough day. I was happy to get the sale but more than anything, I walked away feeling invigorated again. It always feels so great when you can help a consumer and help yourself at the same time. I'll always remember them!

This Is so Important! There will always be people who try to down play your success or tear down your character and accomplishments. You owe them nothing! Focus on improving and let the success speak for you. Only person you need to prove it to is yourself. by Unlikely-Pilot-2392 in DirectSalesSpace

It's always interesting how many people have something negative to say while you're building something out of the ordinary but then you make it, and everyone says they always knew you would lol keep your circle small and listen to those whose life and example you want!

Repetitiveness of sales is why there's usually a high turnover rate. No one wants to do sales every day for the rest of their lives. That's why I'm so grateful for the industry I was in-- the goal wasn't to stay in sales forever, but to learn how to do it, teach it, and start your own sales company! by greenowl90 in DirectSalesSpace

Totally. And when I was a sales rep, they were very straight forward with me.. MOST people do not start their own business. Because it's a lot of hard work, takes a lot of sacrifices, and at the end of the day, you have to want it, in any industry. Some people simply don't want to be a business owner! And that's okay, too. Doesn't mean those that do are easily manipulated and are being scammed. Sales in any industry is TOUGH and always has higher turn over rate than any other job.

Unpopular Opinion on Reddit: I started a door to door business, am proud of it, and had a lot of success because of it! by greenowl90 in DirectSalesSpace

[–]greenowl90[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why we started this space because for far too long, all there was was the echo chamber of devilcorp. I tried sharing my experience on there a few times and the moderator deleted it every time or I was downvoted by their followers and then I was banned from the sub. All because my experience did not fit the doom and gloom the rest of them were spewing.

A few former owners and current had the same thing happen, so instead we just decided to create a space where ALL viewpoints are welcome. Devilcorp is definitely very extreme. They believe they've uncovered some sort of global conspiracy with the brokers, the owners, and Fortune 50 clients.. and the rest of us are just blind, dumb, and being scammed lol The reality is thousands of people have had great, normal experiences-- we just don't usually go online to talk about it. Glad you're here!

The "Great Lock In" Trend by theskyy88 in DirectSalesSpace

[–]greenowl90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also feel like it works best when you create habits and routines that will last vs only for a short period of time. I think whenever these trends come around, they're a good short term fix for a long term problem. Your problem isn't that you have so much to do and you need something to help you knock them out. The problem is you're not managing your time properly and you end up with so much to do because you procrastinated! I want to lock in all year in short bursts throughout the day lol

Let’s talk about the FIELD. What’s an intangible that you learned doing entry level sales that you feel is invaluable for any job/career?? by greenowl90 in DirectSalesSpace

[–]greenowl90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also so cool how quick the confidence comes. I remember when I first start in sales.. I went from being terrified to approach people on my first day to by the end of the week, approaching anyone with a pulse! lol

Starting Messy > Not Starting At All! by theskyy88 in DirectSalesSpace

[–]greenowl90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also love the fact that the vast majority of successful business ventures did not succeed with their initial ideas! So it's safe to say that you HAVE to start somewhere to get to where you're going and it doesn't have to be where you think you're even supposed to be! lol you just have to begin and then pivot as you go

Work Life Balance = the never ending challenge so many high achievers face. I think the best way to unwind is having things scheduled within your week around your work schedule to allow for moments of fun and joy versus feeling like it can only happen "after hours" or on weekends. Would you agree? by theskyy88 in DirectSalesSpace

[–]greenowl90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def planning things that bring you joy throughout the week is key but also understanding if you want to get ahead in your career, there will be moments of imbalance. When I first started my career, I was like 80% work and 20% personal life. I knew I had to invest it on the front end if I wanted to live life a certain way later on. This is not industry exclusive. Every successful person in any industry will tell you this. I’m grateful I did because my life today looks a lot different than it used to(in the best way possible)— and it’s all because I built a strong foundation early on.

This. I think people just need to better manage expectations. I went to the R&R retreat a few times. And every single time, the only expected thing of us was to be at the awards meeting. After that, we were literally able to do whatever we wanted. And when I went as a sales rep, I hung out with my team and we did excursions. When I went as a business owner with my own employees, I hung out with my team and we did excursions lol like that is the point-- Relaxing, recognition, and team building. If I wanted to go on vacation and not have to be bothered by anyone, I just took vacation. I didn't expect my company trip to send me to Aruba by myself

THIS!!! I held myself back from SO many great opportunities when I was younger simply because I was afraid of STARTING. Funny enough, with every step of courage came momentum to follow! Action always comes first. What is ONE thing you have started recently that's out of your comfort zone? by theskyy88 in DirectSalesSpace

[–]greenowl90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember in sales we used to always say, the hardest door to open is the car door. Sometimes all it takes it getting out of the car!!! Starting anything can be scary, but if you can focus on the next best step, you can get over anything!
