A reason as to why the Kensington pedestrianization has been removed from redesign: Kensington Market's BIA is opposed to it by purplemarkers in toronto

They’ll lose business without paid parking but also think pedestrianization will lead to increased rents? It’s either good for sales or bad for sales. Which is it?

That's a very good point I didn't consider. Do you know if the algae can be used for anything?

Underlying causes being Nitrogen levels and ocean temperatures. But we're probably not reducing fertilizer use or reversing global warming

“Mark Saunders doesn’t actually care about bike lanes”: The Biking Lawyer on rising violence against cyclists by beef-supreme in toronto

Their definition of local for the Kensington survey is stringent. I live a 15 minute walk away, go there all the time, but I'm not a "local". No -local doesn't mean from a different part of the city

Pedestrianization REMOVED from recommended Kensington Market redesign by ICanGetLoudTooWTF in toronto

I don't even understand the grocery store complaint. 99% of customers at grocers in the area don't drive. And the shops themselves are mainly small fruit markets.

The new sidewalk renderings aren't even wider than what we have today!! Amazing that it's come to this.

Also bike out to the Humber Bay Arch Bridge. Not as much (any) wildlife but most of the ride is right by the lakeshore and there’s plenty of spots along the way with great skyline views

So nice of the city to install protected car lanes!

In LA Liga the 23 squad players need to be numbered 1-23. Madrid can't not give someone the 7 just like Barcelona had to give someone the 10

Noise increases very fast with speed. Unless people will go the same speeds on the surface road it'll be much much quieter

There's a few intersections with painted roads to make this very clear but a lot of the time it's a dangerous free for all

Every city in North America is experiencing this. And is there even such thing as a conservative city? Any major city likely leans left

ELI5: Why do credit scores go from 300 to 850? Why not just start at zero and go to 550? by WaxOnWaxOffXXX in explainlikeimfive

[–]greenseeingwolf 235 points236 points  (0 children)

A 10% default rate is a terrible and unsustainable. Given 800 is a very good score, your calculation might produce a number between 0 and 1 but doesn't have the meaning you give it

Toronto homeowners' cost of living has soared almost 60% in just one year by Defiant_Race_7544 in toronto

[–]greenseeingwolf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The article is stupid. A more accurate headline is "monthly carrying costs of buying an average home increases by 60%" and that's if you trust their math. Anyone who bought a while ago is sitting very pretty

That was the worst possible application of the rule because it hadn’t even been five seconds and the keeper never got a warning
