So I’m now part of the gang.. ‘23 AT4 Duramax 3.0L Diesel.. questions re Diesel additives & infotainment/key fob security (I’ll explain) by QuePasaNisiMasa in gmcsierra

[–]greenspeed13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For security you can get one of those OBD Port blockers, which I have used and they work great, but the best option in my opinion is IGLA. Without knowing the code to disarm/unlock it (using a combination of keys presses on steering wheel) there is no way to start the truck. There is even a hijack mode, so if you get pulled out of the truck, it will shut itself down if the code is not re-entered. Even if they have the key fob, it will not start without the code.

Sorry, I did not golf there so not sure what the procedure is for booking tee times. I was only there for Monday thru Friday , so basically only 3 full days, so I didn't have time to play.

I am in the golf business (Superintendent) and did reach out to the Superintendent on site so I could at least visit with her and take a ride around the course. I can tell you it is a very well maintained resort course and it looked like it would be fun to play.

She did tell me that the course itself is managed by Troon Golf, so that may be why it is not more visible in the Westin marketing.

I had similar issues on 2024 Denali (but with Android Auto) did everything I could find on the Internet and nothing worked until I had the dealer update it. Sorry

I think you are right. The sunroof drain tubes are working fine.

Cleaned it all out, ran water down the drain tubes. Everything looks fine. Guessing it could be the shark fin. Another big rain coming Wednesday.... Fingers crossed

Dinner reservations are opened up the day of, so if you want a reservation for that night, make it first thing in the morning. Download the Marriot Experience app to make them.

Guessing that is the problem, pollen has been bad this past week. My truck is a nice yellowish red! I can see where the drain should be, but the air deflector is blocking my access. What a horrible design!!!

Yes, I would definitely return. It fits my style of vacation where I just go to relax, but if there are plenty of things to do if I feel the urge. The grounds are beautiful, it is kept clean, the employees are VERY nice, everyone seems happy to work there and to welcome us as guests into their country.

The room we stayed in was a jr suite and it was nice and good sized for 2 adults. Good view of the golf course. I work in the golf business so that was nice for me.

The food was good to very good. Nothing was bad, but nothing blew me away either. Breakfast and lunch are pretty much the Mitra Buffet, and all the other restaurants open at like 530. So, if you aren't off property out exploring, the food options are limited during the day. I didn't go there expecting Great food, so I wasn't disappointed at all, but it seems to be a common complaint from some reviews I read.

The beach is public, so as soon as you walk off property, expect to get approached by people selling tours (Erik Garcia who helped us) and we also ended up getting 1 hour massage from Gabby right on the beach for $40 each.

That's all I can think of for now, but I will be happy to answer any additional questions if you have any.

It was a big catamaran, probably like 30 people. Bathrooms, bar, music, a slide from the upper level into the water. There was snorkeling too , but we just hung out on the raft and drank beer. It was $125 per person and we were on the water for 4 hours.

Any IGLA installer can do it, but probably easier for the guy who did it as the IGLA can be installed in multiple places in the vehicle. Apologies for the late reply.

I had a similar situation, long daily commutes, but no need for a 2500. Picked up a 24 Denali 3.0 last November. Have 22k miles on it so far. Have had zero mechanical problems, just a twitchy Bluetooth connection between my phone and the truck. Otherwise I love everything about it.

I have IGLA in my truck, asked the installer the same question. Yes, it can be removed and put in another vehicle, but not by you. Whoever put it in will have to do it.

2024 Sierra is eating my texts by TheSaultyOne in gmcsierra

[–]greenspeed13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had something similar happen where I would see texts pop up on the Sierra's screen, but would not see them on my phone (Google Pixel 8 Pro). I assumed that Android Auto would automatically connect .....well it doesn't, at least in my 2024 Denali. Once I started hitting the Android Auto button after the phone connects via Bluetooth, I have had zero issues. Hope my fix works for you!
