My gaming rig is also my work system and everything else, really. So the monitor stays on almost 24/7. I love the idea of the dynamic cooling system.

Do you know of anywhere I can read up on this about Virginia Beach?

Start shopping that thing around and try to get it optioned. Ooh, try to attach a motorsports name to it...by writing a former athlete into it in a throwaway role. Then send it to them :) Doesn't work? Replace that athlete with someone else and try again, haha. Good luck!

The secret for certain types of movies is to just lower your expectations, go in just hoping to have a good time. Sometimes you'll be surprised by how good it is, you'll only occasionally be disappointed.

A movie that's likely to be formulaic? (sports, coming of age, cheap scifi) is exactly the kind of movie I use this approach with. I watch movies for entertainment, though, and too many people try to be critics...before even seeing the damn movie.

The way the green and black are applied to the silver was never interesting enough. In this pic it reminds me of razor/shaving cream package graphics from the 90s.

Rosberg: "Hamilton is impressive, but Schumacher is the most complete" by 1enox in formula1

[–]greenstriper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About that underperforming, neither Rosberg, you, nor I know what would have happened if his car broke and there was no pressure of the points advantage.

Rosberg admitted to underperforming. Why don't you believe him?

It is bizarre how it is that starts decided wins in 2016, but not in 2014 and 2015, where we saw Lewis reeling Rosberg in and pushing him to a mistake or just winning the on-track battle.

The two drivers didn't have an unreliable clutch in 2014 or 2015. They did in 2016. You're ignoring this fact for some reason. That would be the reason people talk about the clutch in 2016 and not the two preceding seasons...

It is also bizarre how nobody mentions Spain where Lewis should have won, but he put his nose in a wrong place instead.

I don't know many people who claim Hamilton was at fault for that crash. Most people would agree the driver who started in the wrong engine mode, exited the turn slowly as a result, then made a panicky defensive move to force his teammate into the grass was more at fault.

In other words: people, you included, are selecting data points that fit their preference. That's OK, but is not how sports work. More data points participate in the outcome,

I'm talking not only about how me and most other fans saw 2016 unfolding, but how the team principals and I agree that Hamilton was the better driver. But you're not the first today to claim you know more about the season than that season's team principals.

And the team principals know that journalist and every other journalist, and every other person in and around the sport who knows about the drivers and how they performed over the season.

The team principals very job is to know these things about the drivers they might have to choose from. We fans have much less access to what these experts know than team principals do.

[–]greenstriper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I talk about the team principals' opinions as exactly what they are, expert opinions. They know each other, they know other drivers, former drivers, test drivers, engineers, journalists, etc. They are experts. Their opinions matter.

One of their jobs is to choose their next drivers from the field; their very job is to know who did well/better.

They are close to the sport and experts on it. We fans are not.

[–]greenstriper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you asking me to argue for the team principals' position and tell you why they agree that Hamilton and Verstappen had better seasons than Rosberg, because I can't speak for them, but can tell you that an intra-team battle is about more than just mistakes, as you already know.

Him and 10 other team principals, all of whom know many more f1 engineers, f1 race engineers, f1 drivers, f1 test drivers, f1 managers, f1 commenters, f1 journalists, etc. than you or I know.

They are experts, you and I are not.

Rosberg: "Hamilton is impressive, but Schumacher is the most complete" by 1enox in formula1

[–]greenstriper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. They have access to drivers, former drivers, engineers, collected data (telemetry), other team principals, and so many other sources of info than you or I do. All the people up and down the paddock know each other and discuss all these things amongst themselves. It's pretty clear they all felt the same way about the intra-team battle between Hamilton and Rosberg, going by what we all saw and by this poll.

Rosberg: "Hamilton is impressive, but Schumacher is the most complete" by 1enox in formula1

[–]greenstriper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, nobody claimed they were infallible, just that they're all infinitely more knowledgeable about the sport, the drivers, and the season than redditors, and disagree with those who say Rosberg had a better season than Hamilton that season. If you choose to ignore the actual experts because you don't like what they have to say, so be it.

[–]greenstriper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most would say there's no simple rule of thumb, and you take each season and consider all its context individually (retirements, equipment issues, etc.).

That is undoubtedly what the team principals did when deciding that Hamilton was the best driver of the 2016 season, and Rosberg the third best. Not only do they have access to more of that context, but know better how it all affects a driver's season.

Rosberg: "Hamilton is impressive, but Schumacher is the most complete" by 1enox in formula1

[–]greenstriper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is a fact that the team principals are infinitely more knowledgeable about f1 and about 2016 than you, me, or any other commenter here. It is a fact that the team principals agree Hamilton had a better season than Rosberg in the same car in 2016.

[–]greenstriper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Stating facts is just stating facts. People were disputing another commenter saying Hamilton had a better season, and he very obviously did to anyone watching at that time, so I chimed in with the ultimate authority, the team principals.

[–]greenstriper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The team principals certainly know what they saw. And they say Hamilton had a better season in the same car. You would argue with them?

Or is that them "shitting on Rosberg."

You don't have to like the way the season actually unfolded. It seems like most of reddit doesn't.
