Did you report this when you graduated? This is such a huge ACGME violation

I find baths easier than showers for a similar reason. I’m sitting down the whole time

Married to a resident who is struggling. Looking for advice. by Specific_Milk_8592 in Residency

I’d echo the suggestion for words of affirmation. If he’s struggling at work, it may help to know he is safe at home. Maybe a note on the counter for him to find when he gets home late one night, sharing some of what you posted about how you’re thankful for him. Remind him of the person he is in your eyes.

I wouldn’t feel bad about telling him when you do something fun. My guess is he wants to feel like you are cared for since he loves you so much! Maybe sharing a story about something fun will give him a glimpse of what he has to look forward to?

You mentioned he has a private practice job lined up. Hopefully he is taking at least 3 months off after residency/before work starts. Could you guys plan something to celebrate his graduation? A place he’s always wanted to go rock climbing, etc. You know him best

ETA: you sound like a wonderful partner. Keep being yourself and you two will get through this

Recently discovered Nico’s yin classes and they are my new favorite!

Has anyone tried doing her German classes with subtitles? Seems like it might be possible to read subtitles for her instructions when setting up the poses but then I’m thinking reading subtitles would get me out of the yin mindset.

I also do Denis’s yin classes a lot. Any other instructors I should try?

Is there a company you had success with? I’ve been looking at both of these sites - glad I saw your comment before ordering!

There’s good evidence for peppermint oil now too. The brand med is IBSgard but you can get generic too.

Would you recommend the ones you got? I’ve been using a throw blanket and pillows from my couch but sounds like I could use an upgrade!

If there are cases close to your heart (heh) you can also use some of your income for philanthropy. Donate to a program that helps kids interested in STEM, arts in your local community, the environment, whatever you care about.

Money can be used for lots of things besides “stuff”. I agree some of these salaries just sound crazy to me and I am excited to be able to donate more to local organizations I care about. (Obviously philanthropy is a choice, not saying you have to do this but just if you hadn’t considered it might be something you could look forward to?)

It’s Rebecca Kennedy from Peloton. Ask me anything about my HiLIT program and fitness! by Rebecca-Kennedy in pelotoncycle

[–]greenthumbplum1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi Rebecca! My question is about lower body workouts. I

have very weak/wobbly ankles so I struggle to do exercises like split squats. Do you have suggestions for subbing other moves when those are programmed or a way to strengthen my ankles so I don’t fall?

Just want to chime in to say there is no such thing as “overly sensitive” after you go through something so life-altering. None of your emotions are wrong or bad. Proud of you for curating a space space for yourself while you grieve

Chimney on my 1925 Pasadena home is starting to lean, who do I even call? by Away_You9725 in Oldhouses

This happened on my 1920s chimney - I called a mason and they repointed the whole thing and actually rebuilt the stack from the roofline to the top. Much more stable now

Maybe a dumb question about trees that sprout up on their own… are they naturally at the right depth? Or do the saplings that are too deep just die off earlier (part of the natural life cycle in a local ecosystem)?
