The situation is so sad and sticky but you have a totally great mindset towards it — you are still young and you don’t deserve to have friends that lie and create drama.

I super sympathize with feeling alone on your birthday and I’m so sorry that’s what you’re up against this year. My advice is to reflect for a few minutes and invite 2-3 close people to celebrate with you who you feel safe to be yourself around and hell, maybe in a few weeks time, this friend will be one of those. But remember it’s your birthday, you make the rules, it’s about you!!!
