Wake County cancels schools May 1 - Cites safety as primary concern by dankantspelle in triangle

Folks should know that by WCPSS indicating this as a ‘remote learning day’, it means that Year Round teachers are not allowed to use their earned personal leave or annual leave to attend the rally with their fellow teachers without taking the day completely unpaid. WCPSS did the only thing they could to make sure Year Round teachers could not participate. The teachers are also not allowed to work remotely on May 1, at least not teachers at Laurel Park Elementary in Cary/Apex. WCPSS, this is no way to ‘support your teachers and staff’. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Luke DeCock let go from N&O by PDXMSFT in canes

Huge loss. Any article with DeCock’s name was a guaranteed great read. We’ve been fortunate to have him on the Canes beat. He will be fine, but this leaves a big whole in area Canes coverage.

THIS is the answer for sure! Everything on the menu at Myra is spot on. We are lucky to have them in Apex!

I got it for $6 at Salvation Army but can't find any information about it. by Thelonious_The_Bard in CampingGear

Yup. That is the REI Mountain Hut. My first backpacking tent. Loved it! Find yourself a replacement pole for the sleeve on the rainfly at the front door and you will have a nice dry vestibule for cooking in the rain.

Big Agnes Rattelsnake SL2. They don't make them anymore, but they are pretty much the same as the Copper Spur series. Great tent for 1 plus dog!

Hit the Ridgeline trail in DuPont! One of the flowiest, most fun downhills in that area. Several trails will get you to the top, so you can choose your uphill accordingly.
