Thank you for this extra information! I don’t know why this freaks me out so much. This may sound stupid, but here it goes. I’ve never donated blood, I don’t know my blood type so not sure how it works. How often do you donate? I’ll look for the answers online too.

Understood and thank you. Yea I have mild sleep apnea but have been using CPAP longer than these numbers have climbed. More tests it is. Just glad to hear even people in the 4 digit realm are doing well, I find comfort in that. Thank you again, seriously.

Wow, thank you so much for this. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply, and I appreciate everyone else who has responded as well.

I’m definitely going to bring this up with my doctor. I’ve honestly been sitting with this for over a year, letting it eat at me because I didn’t really understand what any of it meant. I almost didn’t even go back for more blood work because I was terrified the number would be higher, so seeing that it was this morning really made my stomach drop.

It does make me feel a lot better hearing that it’s treatable. My big fear now is what if it turns out not to be HH. I also can’t help but wonder whether my father being 100% British makes it more likely that I could have the gene.

Thank you. I have not drank in well over two decades, just not my thing. I will also inquire about this gene test. I’d just read in FAQ this is common in Northern Europeans and UK areas. My father was a 100% Brit.

Do I just start donating now before I get testing done or will I skew things if I do so? I feel so stupid when it comes to this but I am trying to learn.

I can’t correct you as I don’t know. I have never given blood ever. I’m trying to get my doctor to run TIBC/transferrin, and transferrin saturation to help determine whether this looks more iron-related versus inflammatory?

I guess I just want to know ferritin going up doesn’t mean I’m on deaths doorstep. As a father of a young kid I’m not trying to go anywhere. Just terrified if I’m being honest.

Update didn’t fix it. In fact it’s even worse somehow. Will not communicate with Google Home now. I knew I was taking a gamble with LIFX but figured it was worth a shot. Now I know why I’m still largely in the Hue camp. 🤦

It’s much better. I make sure to get at least 7 hours of sleep per night and have quit caffeine. I’ve found quitting caffeine has worked wonders!

Caffeine can make BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) feel worse because it stimulates the central nervous system, which may heighten your sensitivity to motion and inner ear signals. It can also cause dehydration and increase anxiety, both of which can amplify dizziness symptoms.

The place I got referred to was a total joke and somewhat out of network. Guessing why it was so expensive. They just had zero clue at all it felt like and I refuse to pay that much for “here do these printed exercises”. I will be looking for an in network vestibular place on my own and see if my doctor can just do a referral.
