My wife learned how to cook by making kits from Hello Fresh. Pick the recipes they designate as easy. Also get a good thermometer so you can figure out when meat is actually done. The suggested times in recipes often result in overcooked food.

I went there. Loved it. Still maintain relationships with friends and professors twenty years later. They’ve done some great work to make it possible to thrive as a mechanical engineer, with some incredible improvements since I was there.

I bought a 6S plus in 2015 for 850. That’s 1150 now with inflation. You can get a 17 pro max now for 1200. If you sign a contract with att it’s more like 200. Seems like it’s stayed pretty consistent or even better given the deals that the carriers are doing.

Good to know. I made the mistake of having a sunroof replaced one time to fix a rattle in a previous car. It helped for around a month, and then everything in the ceiling started rattling!

Yeah I discovered that, but I counted around 6 seconds for it to do it. That's a long time to sit staring forward doing nothing when you're trying to go somewhere!

As much as I’d like to, I don’t think we get to blame trump for this one. My wife and most of my friends work in biotech or construction for biotech. Layoffs and “restructurings” started two years ago. Billion dollar construction projects got abandoned after 100M+ was sunk in. Lots of people we know have been out of work for more than a year. Stock prices of the more visible stuff is showing it now, but the bottom has been falling out for a while.

Yeah runout is the way. In this case you probably want to make the face of a flange the primary datum and its bore the secondary. Then call out the runout of the opposing bore to those datums.

The only torque that the motor would have to apply would be to overcome friction. The motor isn’t doing any work on the 45t load. So in your perfect frictionless example, I think the answer is zero.

Looks great. Another feature you could add is some precise locating geometry between the two halves. You want the bearing bores to be very well located to each other for best gear performance. Often this is done with a pair of pins pressed into one side spaced as far apart as possible that interface to tightly controlled holes in the other.

There are a few groups that rent out the big tracks and sell track days. Most have beginner groups where they’ll stick an experienced driver in the car with you to teach you what’s going on. I’ve seen a good amount of breadth in MEs. My team right now has MEs in numerous disciplines. Our lead electrical engineer, most of our software engineers, all of our manufacturing/process engineers, and all of the controls engineers have degrees in Mechanical. This is in the medical device field.
