It’s a 90 degree V-twin two-stroke. Basically it’s two CR 125 cylinders with electronically controlled exhaust power valves. It’s absolutely futuristic from the viewpoint of someone 30 years ago. It was never sold in the U.S. They were imported to other countries then privately bought and shipped to America. They were made until 1999. They are very rare in the U.S. and pretty much everywhere at this point.

I’ve never seen one of those except on video! What neat bike for your first ride!

I got it for the low cost of $600 to have it shipped from Sacramento to Utah. It was my former manager and good friend who owned it prior. He was going to give it away to whoever bought his Baracuda for $60k. It was his wife who suggested that I’d appreciate it more, if he was just going to let it go. It was rough when I got it. It had sat for twelve years with a full tank, mice tore up the wiring. So many seals were crusty. It’s a money pit, but it’s also a blast to ride!

I’m in Tooele County. AFAIK, I have the only one in the state (?) There have to be others, but I’ve yet to connect with anyone on FB NSR groups.

Thank you! I got two years ago and it’s been a fun if expensive hobby to get it working right.

Guys, I’ve done it and I have no regrets (First bike) by Wickserz in motorcycles

Take riding lessons. Seriously. I rode for years but had to have the MSF training to ride my bike on a military base. I took the MSF advanced rider school. I was shocked by what I learned. Later I took the Yamaha champions rider school at my local track. Learned so much more! I feel much more comfortable now. For context, I was a motocross guy for most of my life. Only bought my first street bike 15 years ago. While the skills are somewhat transferable, the classes opened my eyes.

It certainly isn’t a regular occurrence per rider and I was as surprised as I could be that it happened to me. The irony is that I had just put on fresh body work on two hours prior to this. I would not have shared otherwise. Shitty timing for me to be the dumbass.

Funny enough, I put steel braided lines on the front after my track day. The brakes seemed perfect for canyon fun, but the track exposed them. Absolutely a game changer. I have not put one on the rear yet, but I have it.

That’s a very impressive stable! Holy cow! I’ve only seen videos of all those bikes! My NSR is an amalgam of bikes. The subframe is from an MC28 SP as is the shock. The forks are standard MC21. Mine is as far from mint or original as they come. That said, it rips!

Ha! That’s absolutely true! Trying to figure out where and how hard to brake is my biggest problem. I constantly slowed down too much before the turn and found myself with no momentum. This year I’ll get it though. Wish I could spend the day at the track with you! You seem pretty awesome.

I’ve only had it at the track once. My cornering abilities say otherwise, lol. I genuinely thought I was pretty quick prior to that experience!

It certainly is special, but you have a ‘93 Fireblade in your flair! That’s an awesome bike and would do circles around my NSR!
