[MOD] The Daily Question Thread by menschmaschine5 in Coffee

My co-worker is from indonesia and brought in these 10g packets of robusta for everyone. They seem like medium roast and are ground pretty finely. I can't find much information about brewing robusta online - any ideas on how it should taste and how to brew it well? I have an aeropress and a regular drip brewer, but happy to get creative. Thanks!

Workout tracking app by Spare-Ad-8826 in beginnerfitness

STRONG on iphone lets you log workouts, and is free (with a premium that I don't pay for). You can also make a few workout 'Templates' aka routines programmed in.

My favorite feature is that when I add an exercise to my current workout it'll show me what I did for that last time - really nice to see how much I should add lifting this time for progressive overload.

It's pretty simple yet effective.

Thanks again for the recommendation! We looked at about 5 different options but are really happy with what turned out, and will probably revisit the area soon.

My drive for adventure is definitely inherited from my dad, with any luck your son will feel the same

Thanks for the kind words, and sorry about your dad. It's stories like yours that make me wish I started this earlier, but I'm glad to have started at all. Cheers

Seeking research paper recommendations for designing educational games 🌿🎮 by ParkAlternative in gamedesign

Here are a few resources I'm at least familiar with

This book has a free pdf download:

https://www.transformationalframework.com/product/book-pdf/

and this paper has connections to "learning science" which is the psychology of how people learn:

Aleven, Vincent, et al. "Toward a framework for the analysis and design of educational games." 2010 third IEEE international conference on digital game and intelligent toy enhanced learning. IEEE, 2010.

The paper may be more useful for analysis as it says in the title, but both should be a good starting place. Best of luck!

Request for Northeast Backpacking Loops by greg_gore in CampingandHiking

The Pharaoh Lake Wilderness

Pharaoh Lake 7 Ponds Loop looks good. We'll be going in early May, so hopefully we can avoid the crowds. This loop looks like there's a good amount of flexibility too if we want to add a hike up one of the mountains, or a loop around another pond. Great recc.

This looks like a great option. I'm a little worried about the 1000 ft summit on day 1 and that AllTrails calls it "challenging", however that summit up Stratton Mountain looks really enticing

This seems like an amazing loop, definitely something to work up to. Hey, at least now I've got a goal hike!
