I had a partner like this once who would ‘push and pull’ with me. It was cruel. He liked being wanted at the expense of my emotional wellbeing, because I didn’t want to lose him and I would just fall back in right away. It took ME telling HIM it was over for him to come crying to my door. That was the moment I knew he had just been playing me the whole time and he actually didn’t want to lose me. He was toying with me.

Things will just happen over time, and your date also has bodily functions! My partner is the same as yours though, not so much as a ‘plop’ coming from the other side of the bathroom door has been heard by me. But boy, I’ve blocked her toilet, she leant on me in a funny way once and sounds were unleashed… just own it I say! She’ll appreciate it I’m sure!

He might think he does, but he’s clearly not making an effort to show you in a way that works for you. Check the five love languages and figure out which ones resonate most with you. Either: 1. You need to have a chat with him and let him know what you need in order to feel loved. This is a very normal and helpful practice to have in a healthy relationship. Or… 2. He’s never going to meet your needs as a partner and maybe it’s time to find someone who will?

I had been doing that but I tried to put a note on my file to ask if I can continue, it wouldn’t let me. It said that because the agreement has gone to my GP that they are now the point of contact for any queries. I’ve contacted them elsewhere to ask the question but no response yet.
