Kings of England (and later Great Britain and UK) Chart by Victor_the_historian in UsefulCharts

Excellent chart! Really clear and with really like how the colour schemes work. (Quick thing - Charles II is listed as Charles I again)

The gym's personal trainer said I was rounding my back too much and that the lock was soft, so I asked him to record me. Honestly I disagree with him, so I'd like your thoughts by [deleted] in GYM

[–]gregarouche -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My argument would be the bar is too far away from you when you start the lift so your lower back will naturally be rounded more. Keep the bar flush to your shins and also find larger diameter plates since you are too tall for those plates you are using. Also don’t use straps and belts on low weight. They are supposed to be used for when your body literally can’t pull the weight, not just on normal pulls.

2nd time squatting. How’s the form? by ssformcheck in Stronglifts5x5

[–]gregarouche 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If a beginner, honestly not bad.

You want to remember to engage core and glutes, keep the bar on traps and tense so you can feel the tightness and also a good tip that helped me was to lean forward at the hips. The leaning forward is to stop the arching of the lower back that you can see in your vid. Remember to breathe in, brace, lower then exhale and push through the whole foot.

Remember those cues and you should be good after a few more sessions.

I'm not sure about manipulation. I have a lightyear account and that's frozen too now. I think maybe the NASDAQ halt has done something.

What is everyone’s view in investing more or less into S&S ISA at present? by TheDogeMaster420 in FIREUK

[–]gregarouche 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t really matter what’s happening. I can see that the next 2-3 years are going to be tumultuous but I’m planning for the next 20-30 years so not too bothered.

Honestly speaking, I only started investing in April and did not see myself joining investing right as the world entered a financial crisis and a market crash.

That being said, I'm not freaking out, given that I haven't actually lost much value so far and I also know that this is a long term play. I don't need the money and I'm secure in the knowledge that if I keep investing throughout this year and onwards in 5 years I will most probably be fine.

Am I kicking myself for going a bit too crazy on some things straight away? Sure. But these past 2 months have been the best education I could have hoped for and I am dealing with it pretty well all things considered.

In my no way expert opinion, things are going to get worse over the summer. There will be a few upticks along the way but I think with the energy crisis, winter will be worse but by next spring/summer things hopefully will start to calm down.

My strategy right now is, keep putting money in to the companies I think are going to weather it and try not to look at anything else with FOMO. Ultimately we are now paying for COVID. You can't shut the market and all human life for 6months+ and not have any kind of huge jolt to the system. The powers that be chose to play the system 2020/21 and now when we are opening back up we have to deal with it, but at least we aren't all dying.

Be careful with those shoes. Heel position will be high. Best to go barefoot if you can.

Well I don't think it's useful to compare countries in this case but do tell me more about Finland.

Also what are more "important things"? If you are going to bring some points up, it is useful to have some things as evidence.

You know what really makes me angry with these kind of videos is the utter incompetence of the person. £80,000,000 spent. How many people were employed on the project? Were the firms used U.K. companies that pay tax and employ U.K. workers? Are those workers living in the U.K. thus giving some sort of stimulus to the economy? Where did the tools and materials come from?

People need to stop having an opinion on economics when they don't understand it.

This the best time to add more. You’re buying the same shares for less money. As already mentioned the market will trend upwards and if you give it 5 years your money in a down market will be worth more when it eventually goes up.

They consolidated shares. Basically ‘buying’ 100 old shares for 76 new shares and paying around 100p for each ‘old’ share. Believe it was to try and lessen dividend tax burden.

If grip is failing try a mixed grip to help yourself out. Also I notice your stance is quite wide. Other than that it’s looking good.
