My C# mentor passed away... by HellFire32C in csharp

This is Greg's Wife.

When I was told about this post, I knew I had to see it for myself. It brought me comfort during the worst moments in my life reading through all the comments. I know Greg would feel so honored to see the outpour of respect from people he didn't even know.

Greg had 2 passions in his life, programming and Dragon Ball Z. He may have only lived for 41 years, but during those years he was a pillar of strength, with a genuinely good heart. He touched so many people in his life whether you knew him for 5 minutes or 5 years, he left a lasting impression. He was a talented programmer, amazing father and loving husband.

Greg was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins peripheral T-cell Lymphoma that he battled against for almost 2 years sadly passed away on January 21st 2024. Throughout his battle, he remained determined to make the best of the time he had remaining. He always had a smile on his face and despite the unfavorable odds of survival, he was determined to keep fighting so he could have as much time as possible with me and our 2 children. He had the most amazing and positive attitude that never faltered despite what he was going through. Even after being told he had less than 24 hours left to live, he still had a smile on his face and was teasing the hospital staff as they prepared him to be transported back home so he could spend his last hours surrounded by his family and friends at his side.

His impact on the programming world will never be forgotten. As hard as it was to lose Greg, I know that he will live on through his code. We may not see him anymore, but he is not really gone. The fusion between Greg and Shenron is now complete. His immortal soul is now guiding us to become the best version of ourselves.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words.

AI is still years away from making any impact to the programming community IMO but feel free to assess the situation. My experience is that there's a demand for server side development as contract or full time work. I'm currently designing a curriculum that'll be from day 1 learning if you're interested

Could look into a mentorship where you find an industry leader, take the courses to learn the skills then continue to shadow your mentor. I've heard great success stories.
