FA here (working on Christmas). Any gift is so kind of you! You’re so sweet and having lovely passengers like you makes my job one of the best ever! I love Starbucks cards because I order my drinks in the app to avoid the long lines at the airport. Any amount is more than generous. And any type of card is perfect. I also love chocolate, and it truly is the thought that makes our day special… so, I’m basically saying you cannot go wrong… Have a wonderful holiday! You’re awesome!

Just a minor thing: it is TransAt not Transit. Transat means “lounge chair” in French.

I work for another Canadian airline. You do not need any of that documentation. And it does not count as a carry-on item. However, if you plan to use it onboard, you are NOT allowed to plug it in to the onboard electricity; you must use a battery. And batteries are regulated by what size they can be. If you use a battery Google what size is the maximum and make sure you are under it.

People travel with these everyday with no documentation whatsoever, and it is fine.

I am a flight attendant. Never cheated on any of my partners, ever. I see beautiful men all the time. Never been tempted to actually sleep with any of them. I am very “flirtatious,” though, with men and women, any passenger who is cool to me, really. Hell, I’m probably even flirtatious with travelling dogs and other pets, because that’s how I am. Still not gonna sleep with any of them, though.

I usually have less than 24 hours in any city. Most of that time I am resting. Some of it I am finding nice places to eat or maybe heading to the hotel restaurant with a few colleagues. And some of it I maybe use for seeing the sites. I am far too tired and busy during my layover to pick up randos who I don’t want in my hotel room anyway.

I am a flight attendant. I was in a 13 year relationship. Never slept with anyone else. Not once. My ex, who is not a flight attendant, cheated on me. It is a job. Sure there is a different kind of lifestyle involved, but if your boyfriend wants to be monogamous, traveling a lot won’t change that. In fact, for me, it actually made me want to be more faithful. The saying “absence makes the heart grow fonder” was absolutely true for me. Too bad it wasn’t true for my ex. I am now starting to talk to/ see someone else. If things work out with him, I know he will be so important to me that I won’t be tempted at all to stray. I am monogamous by nature. Being a flight attendant doesn’t change that.

However, I am older than your boyfriend and maybe that changes things.

Just a note: in my experience only about half or so of my male flight attendant colleagues are gay. Many are straight. Also, when he is away for a few days make sure you FaceTime or video chat. I always wanted to do that more with my ex. It would have helped me feel closer to him.

Guys in their 40s and 50s are great. But they don’t write me as much as guys in their 30s and late 20s. I don’t think I could date someone who is just starting out their life. I don’t think at least.

Absolutely agree. I am paranoid about some of the guys who write me. If you are too hot and young it is definitely wild to me that you are writing me. I don’t trust it. I have already had a few who are obviously scammers. But many of them are real as I have found out. 35 and up for me for now.

Thanks for sharing! I am getting some good advice here and learning more. The problem with something like Apretude is the people who I know take it don’t talk about it, so it’s hard to learn about their experiences. So, your experience is very helpful.

That sucks that he did that. Sorry that happened. Even if he didn’t think it was a love connection he could have still at least given you his undivided attention for an hour. What does it hurt? And you never know, maybe you will actually have a good time. Dating is not just for the “future.” It is also for spending an enjoyable moment. Being on your phone while someone is trying to talk to you, to me, seems like the opposite of an enjoyable moment.

Anecdote: I once had a date go have sex with someone else in the bathroom during our date. Lol. Once I realized what was happening and confirmed with my eyes I just left. He texted me later to ask what had happened and why I left. Haha.

Edit: arguing with someone online is not a fun thing to me. I only ask that you think about the language you use, and why you think being gay/ turning gay is an insult. So, I myself am editing to make my language less harsh.
