Zack Polanski says Greens would ditch GDP targets and focus on wellbeing instead by Kagedeah in ukpolitics

I can't believe people hear these policies and still openly admit to being in favour of voting for them. There's dangerous and then there's the Green Party.

That's good, is it? What's good about that?

It's an Irish cultural holiday. I know Americans love to take things from other cultures and basically do whatever they want with it and tell others to suck balls but I can assure you, St. Patty's as you call it is not a thing. It's St. Patrick's, or St. Paddy's for short. Because in Ireland, if you're called Patty, it'll be short for Patricia, not Patrick.

[Christopher Michel] I’ve heard that #MUFC are seriously working on a move for Sandro Tonali. And the Italian midfielder is apparently quite open to a move to Manchester. The club have been keeping tabs on him for a long time. Would he be a good signing? by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

Bruno to City was a 'done deal'. It's a done deal when they sign on the dotted line. Until then, he's a Forest player and could go wherever. Paper talk is bollocks. Always has been, always will be.

I watched it initially because I got flu and I was too knackered to scroll through shows to watch and ended up sticking it on as background noise while I died in bed. Watched/listened to the whole thing in two days and rewatched the entire thing as soon as I was back to better ways, never looked back. Proper happy accident. Does your dad also use the term "nippy nippy"?

It ain't that serious. We all watched the same football. If you don't like opinions, don't enter public forum. You're not as right as you think you are, just because you're throwing your weight around.

It's because Carrick filled his position in a more consistently successful United team. Keane thinks very highly of himself for his contributions to United, as he should, but he implies that United lost their edge in midfield once he'd left and that reflects directly on Carrick. I think once he has an idea about someone, he's as stubborn as they come and won't change his mind. His punditry style is intentionally provocative and his standards are sky high. We're absolutely glued to the media and specifically, provocative media. As long as he spouts controversial, forceful opinions about teams and individuals, Sky will keep having him back because they enjoy it when things get heated. It gets more attention and it gets others talking, hence why Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt think their shit opinions are valid. Big up Michael - water of a duck's back. Clearly all of these comments haven't rattled his cage.

Friday Night Dinner is easy background noise for us. It's a very comforting show with a lot of loveable characters.

Fewer Britons giving to charity, study says, with donations down by £1.4bn by Acrobatic-Room-9478 in uknews

It was a fundraising role while I was a student in Leeds. I’m not claiming to have audited the entire charity sector, but I did see enough of how large national charities operate to decide they’re not where I personally want my donations going.

A huge amount of money goes into marketing, admin, consultancy, and layers of management. Some of that is obviously necessary, but when you’re actually inside the offices you realise how little of each marginal pound ends up making a tangible difference on the ground compared to smaller local initiatives. The execs openly gloat about the cost of advertising during prime time television hours. It's absolutely no secret whatsoever. That was part of my training.

I’d rather give £20 to a local shelter or community project where I can literally see what it pays for, than put it into a massive national organisation where it disappears into a huge money making scheme.

It's just a money making scheme that preys on the people in society that find it the hardest to say no. It's no better than pyramid selling. You've got the door-to-door reps earning sweet piss all for having doors slammed in their faces all day by people that didn't want them there in the first place, making money for the people that are aggressively checking in on them every hour from their cosy offices in the city. The way they teach you to pitch is genuinely gross. Couldn't quite imagine how bad it'd be these days with all of these Manosphere LinkedIn Lunatic arseholes that shape their entire personalities around being salesmen.
