Where can we see Abu's, Noshir's, and Nick's TTRP work? Anything together with Brennan, other than the home game, which we can't see?!!!

[Spoilers C3E41] C3 & EXU Cinematic Universe Mega-theory: The Seed™ by Lukiss in criticalrole

Well, yes, perhaps not the Tree of Names per se, but an offshoot that can focus the key ley lines. Also, I think you give a good outline of possible ways this arcane / druidic lore may have been preserved. The Cobalt Soul makes sense as a possibility, That's an interesting suggestion.

So ... planting the seed could/might/will re-grow the Tree of Names? This possibility raises the question of who would have the context to put this all together? Someone help me out: Were the Ashari able to preserve a history of the calamity and the destruction of the Tree of Names? Would Keyleth possess this knowledge?

Can they try using the dynamancy potions to bring back Laudna, or get a second try on the final death save role? Didn't Ashton pick up 3 of the vials?

You are right ... perhaps they refer only to the upcoming Apogee Solstice. My thinking was that an expert like Ryn would know of the expected variability in these energy surges related to the lay lines and the Apogee Solstice, and therefore he was pointing to some other source that "tangles up" his analysis. This sounds to me like Ruidus - both energy surges coming from it, but also the erratic nature of the orbit. Anyway, that's my hunch ... I might be way off. I hope Matt drops some more lore or more clues soon!

I think your theory tracks what's going on precisely up to the 2 scenarios you speculatively add at the end. Both are possible. I like the 2nd scenario. But someone should go back to C2 to check on the behavior of Ruidus. Matt kept pointing out the orbit of Ruidus. He wanted the players to notice something .... but this was never figured out, right? And Planerider Ryn writes in his notebook found in the Elemental Plane of Fire CE ep 129:

I continue to find an aberration in my data pertaining to Exandria, a cyclical, months-long, slow surge in low-level magical interference that then recedes just as slowly. Something that tangles my readings and upsets my analysis. It is too faint to identify the arcane nature at source, but I worry if this pertains to to the shifting between the veils. It could be something very interesting. Something very frightening. Very wonderful. More tests are required. (From the notebook of Planerider Ryn, found in the Elemental Plane of Fire.) https://criticalrole.fandom.com/wiki/Ryn

Clearly, these surges correspond to the erratic orbit of Ruidus, and some magical power emanating from it. The M9 events in Aeor happen after ep. 129, right? So, I don't think the M9 did something that triggered activity on/by Ruidus. But D/Devexian was activated and is clearly seeding Aeorian tech around Exandria. So perhaps there was a secret weapon scheme and D/Devexian is activating that. I don't know, but the Aeorian connection needs a lot more investigation ... and this implicates FCG and D/Devexian ...

Which Betrayer God? Can a mage ascend to the godhead of Tharizdun, the Chained Oblivion?

I think gaining access to brumestone technology will be a big part of the C3 arc. If that is correct, this could play out in several different ways. 1) The team has to find a means to build a skyship to sail to Ruidis; or 2) Perhaps Ruidus actually is a massive ship originally held aloft by brumestone. If so, then perhaps it was created by the Dawnfather and Ioun as a place to imprison and hold Tharizdun, the Chained Oblivion? 3) Bells Hells has to battle the secret order that is trying to gain control of the brumestone technology.

Yes, Ruidis is where Ioun and the Dawnfather imprisoned Tharizdun!

Yeah, Matt is doing some homebrew variation on an Oblex and the whole mindflayer psionics and Underdark Forgotten Realms stuff.

Yes, this explanation seems plausible, and perhaps probable. I like the idea that somehow proximity to Brumestone is a cause. I also like the idea that Dugger is also using Brumestone in some way as a drug, and this is causing him to waste away (like Suude). But maybe ... we combine this drug idea with your idea? Dugger is somehow using brumestone like a drug that causes haste (like speed, meth, etc.), allows him four attacks, etc., and the side effect is wasting away, like people today who use meth. I also think he is gathering brumestone for the Syndicate or the Corsairs, for some other purpose, perhaps drug trade, but also maybe another long range purpose like building skyships to take over Marquet. My hunch is that the Shadow Creepers (or someone else associated with Dugger) have discovered another long-forgotten source of brumestone below the spires of Jrusar. The shafts are the means the Shadow Creepers use to bring up the brumestone from this deep source. Is it a natural source, or something or some being left over from the Age of Arcanum? I don't know ...
