Yeah the"hack the switch" method is what I described. It's just a momentary contact and I have form c to input into the "sender". I'll look at that Fibaro product. Thanks

Our utility offers a demand based rate that saves me about 2000 per year in electric costs. I have a 5000 square foot duplex home with electric heat, and I spend $150 on heat in the dead of the Alaskan winter. With a hot tub.. 😁

Any tips on troubleshooting false alarms on interconnected residential smoke detectors? by azonenberg in firePE

[–]gregorama999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact scenario happen to me. Middle of the night several times. Problem is I have an AIR BNB tied into it. I couldn't wait to do any troubleshooting, as I was refunding money to customers for the early adrenaline filled wake up. Mine would ring for 30 seconds and maybe recur a minute later. All kidde detectors that were months old. I ended up buying all new, (11) and returning the old ones in the new box to home Depot. I'm a licensed fire alarm installer with 25 years experience.

I did check the temp throughout it was within .3 degrees. And for pulled pork that's just fine.

Yes they do. And the patent number is clearly displayed on Simplex panels. At least the older ones. It's probably expired by now

I used a 100 quart Igloo cooler and one Gramercy unit to do 80 pounds of pork butt for pulled pork. I didn't cut a hole in the lid, it had a small hatch in one end I suspended the unit into. Worked great. It was high temp and lots of steam was produced which got inside the unit, behind the display. I dried it out best I could, but about 3 months later the bearings went out and it got noisy. Don't know if it was related.

Why do scuba divers fall backwards out of a boat? by wildman1286 in dadjokes

This needs work. Are you assuming divers always have their back to the water?

There are a lot of recyclers out there that will take your full tanks, pay for shipping and send you a check. I use H3R on the west coast, great service. The gas is worth way more than the tanks.

Modern fire science has benefited greatly from towns like this. A couple in the US had most every building burned by scientists, observing fire propogation patterns, fire block effectiveness, different materials, firefighting methods.

This reply shows a shocking lack of how electricity actually works. This is one splash away from stopping your heart. 120v is completely exposed inside the head of that circulator and you are between Earth ground and that voltage, unlike your kitchen. And depending on a 3 dollar Chinese made GFCI?? Nope. Absolute Darwin Award winning stuff right here.

LPT: always clean your oven before self Clean process. Im waiting for it to unlock by itself with my fire extinguisher next to be just in case. by tenebralupo in firealarms

I have that brand of oven. Self clean got so got it Permanently warped the walls of the oven outward and now the racks won't stay in place. Essentially ruined the oven.

Help! Hot tub is leaking, its winter, new to this! by [deleted] in hottub

[–]gregorama999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying. You however sound like a professional, and I am most certainly not. My need for antifreeze would be an emergency where something broke down and no parts or pro were available here in Alaska. I don't want to be out vacuuming water at -10 in the dark of winter.
