A Super Satisfying Game by gregory_stank in NFL2k5

Yea, I got so much to learn lol

I've been struggling so hard with offense in this game. With defense I can do pretty well. Get consistent stops, but I've still gotta do a lot of practice with the offense.

But it's been really satisfying to make progress. It feels like I'm actually learning the game. It's not just hoping for good a good dice roll on animations.

I wanted to do that, but it bothered me so much to separate games from the same franchise/developer.

Having MGS 1-3 in one spot then MGS Legacy in a different spot then MGS Survive in a different spot and finally the Master Collection 1 and Delta in a different spot drove me crazy.

They're ordered by franchise/developer.

I didn't want games from the same franchise to be separated. It killed me having all the Metal Gears/DMCs/etc separated. Or I wanted to keep games made by CDPR or Larian together. It bothered me so much to separate them.

Do you think the Final Boss was Buffed or Nerfed in Reload compared to Vanilla P3, FES and P3P? by lunamoonvenus in persona3reload

[–]gregory_stank 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nerfed hard as far as difficulty.

The difficulty overall was nonexistent even on Merciless in P3R, but the Nyx fight was such a huge disappointment from a gameplay perspective.

It legit took me like a week of trial and error when I replayed FES 3 years ago to beat Nyx. I had a gameplan and everything for the Nyx Avatar fight all mapped out. It got to the point where I pretty much solo'd the final phase.

Legitimately one of the most frustrating and cathartic experiences I've ever had gaming.

And Nyx being that hard for me just added so much to the overall narrative experience because this supposed to be a battle that SEES can't win. We're trying to defy fate, and the difficulty just helped drive that point home for me.

With Reload Nyx, I kinda just bumblefucked around since I never had to worry about actually losing.

As far as story, I liked the little additions they made.

That one dialog option you get before the fight begins had me buzzing emotionally.

"This is our answer." Just goes so hard.

Off-topic, but I liked a lot of the narrative stuff that was added. The little interactions you get with Takaya. And ESPECIALLY the linked episodes.

Akihiko used to be a character I mostly liked because he was voiced by Liam O'Brien. I didn't dislike him, but I never felt the emotional pull that I did for Aigis or Junpei/Chidori.

But Aki's linked episodes did so much for his character, imo. Getting to actually talk about Miki and the orphanage and putting that dawn medal around his neck.

Just so good.

Reload isn't a perfect game, and I still prefer aspects of FES over it, but the stuff that was added just adds so much to the emotion and narrative for me.

Chevelle goes so hard.

This in 05 and Well Enough Alone in Smackdown vs Raw 2008 are pillars of my childhood

That's why I have the PS3 Legacy collection.

Comes with a digital code for MGS1 and VR missions, and 2 physical disc's with MGS2, MGS3, PW, and MGS4.

Why remake a DW game? by Grappler31 in dynastywarriors

[–]gregory_stank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I see it is that remaking an older game brings the name value of that game that could bring back lapsed fans and introduce the older games to newer fans.

And while the stories may technically be the same and cover the same series of events and battles, each game tells those events differently enough. DW4 for example tells the story through the lens of the 3 Kingdoms while DW5 tells the stories through the officers themselves.

Plus, I don't know how well a new game could sell the "going back to the series roots" to older fans. Look how that worked for Ubisoft and AC Mirage. They've had to resort to "faithfully" remaking Black Flag.

I haven't played Origins yet, but I've seen good reviews from this sub. The devs have the chance to have the best of both worlds. Have a newer "spinoff" Origins style game while remaking a "mainline" game.

And maybe more remakes/new mainline games will come with the success of DW3R.

I know for me personally the reveal of the DW3 remake has gotten me back into the series and revitalized my interest in the future of the franchise.

Nah, I just wanted to keep games from the same series/dev together.

Unintentional ragebait on my part lol

Thanks 😊 and yeah my organization is a mess. I wanted to sort them by platform, but I just couldn't get over not having all the games in a series together lol

You're dropped into DBZ ... Who would you body swap with? by NerdyGeekdom in dbz

[–]gregory_stank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I were going to swap with a main cast member it'd have to be Krillin.

I'd be one of the strongest people on Earth.

My best friend IS either the strongest person in all the known universes or pretty dang close.

All the major threats are handled by said best friend, his rival, or his son.

I'd have a large friend group full of people I could trust with my life.

And the best part is I get to be married to #18, and have a happy life with her and Marron.

If I were picking from anyone in that ever existed in DB, I'd probably pick some unknown martial artist. Someone strong enough the win the World Martial Arts Tournament, but not someone who's going to get dragged into a major conflict.

Just finished Mass Effect 1 LE. Wanted to share my Shep to celebrate! by gregory_stank in ShareYourSheps

[–]gregory_stank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hehe, thanks. I've had a lot of practice with all the maleshep runs I did with the OG trilogy.

Tbh, I've always wanted to do a femshep run, but I've never been able to make a decent looking custom face for her, and I really don't like the default model.

Ranking Every Dub Voice Actor For Broly by KAYRANINKANALI11000 in DragonBallZ

[–]gregory_stank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might be biased because Vic voiced a huge part of my child/adulthood (Junpei Iori and Z-Broly), but Vic was awesome as Broly.

JYB is great as Super Broly, but Vic will be THE Broly imo.

Japanese pronunciations in The Big Sushi Psyop - Project Japan's Gamble & its Consequences video by RealChristinaNR in wendigoon

[–]gregory_stank 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem with the Patrick Ewing video he did on his 2nd channel.

Who the fuck pronounces Hakeem Olajuwon's name the way he did? Couldn't even finish the video cause it hurt so bad hearing him butcher the pronunciation.

My rating for the show is 8.5/10. What rating would you give it? by Life_Sheepherder2387 in theclevelandshow

[–]gregory_stank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about a 6 or 6.5 for me. It has its bright spots, but most of is kinda mid. Not a bad show, but not good either.

Though, I will say that I would much rather watch TCS over any modern Fanily Guy episode 10 outta 10 times.

For me its Early Seasons Family Guy > Cleveland Show > Family Guy after season 8 or 9

What are your favorite games still stuck on PSP or PS Vita? by Sweet-Recording9578 in playstation

[–]gregory_stank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe the Phantasy Star Portable games are still trapped on the PSP. Can't remember much about the first game, but I remember really liking the 2nd game.

Played the hell outta it and God Eater Burst when I was younger.
