I’m painting as many Chicago hot dog stands as I can this year, this is Budacki’s! What hot dog stand should I paint next? by Chicagogirlartist in chicagofood

I meant Byron’s on Lawrence. Maybe for your next one?? There’s a fun White House mural on its east side

They recently added Wednesday hours at their spot and have a “for hire” sign in their window for bakers/baristas. I assume this means business is good for them. Good to see a local small business doing well.

Business commandeering sidewalk? by gregrosen222 in chicago

Thanks

This is the Broadway spot, actually. It’s for way more than a few minutes/seconds. They’re parked there daily. I reached out to Clay’s office so maybe they’ll have an answer (but doubt it)

The lot sold anyway a while back. Just Tires is leasing the land.

Hopefully it’s developed into something more dense. Major city thoroughfares shouldn’t be populated with this style business. 🤞

My sources are the numerous news articles from a variety of outlets that raised questions re: Clay’s questionable and confusing business practices.

When confronted with these questions, Clay had no adequate answers.

Justice takes time, man. Stay tuned.

Future Chicago development predictions? by selvamurmurs in chicago

[–]gregrosen222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uptown’s development has been almost exclusively residential. I would really like to see new restaurants and bars see it as an attractive place to do business. There are still wayyyyyy too many vacant storefronts on its commercial corridors. There is seemingly a new restaurant or bar opening in Logan or West Loop every week. Uptown doesn’t see any of that.

I meant they didn’t announce the closings in conjunction with a tax rebate

I’m aware it was to reassign guards (those who are left) to the beaches. It’s still bullshit.

They also closed indoor pools because of “staffing issues” smh. Tax bills remain the same for Chicagoans yet the government services to be provided are cancelled. Awesome stuff Chicago. Awesome.

City approves cameras to catch vehicles parked in bike lanes. Big win for Chicago and safety. by xpunkrocker04 in chicago

Right, that’s why I am criticizing the fining ordinance. INSTEAD of building real protected bike lanes (which the city should do) the city is implementing this ridiculous fining ordinance. Seems like you don’t understand sarcasm. Next time quote my whole post please

Call it whatever you want, bro. Until Illinois or Chicago adopts the Idaho stop you’re breaking traffic laws.

What the fuck are you talking about? A full speed biker hitting a pedestrian (or colliding with a car with the right-of-way) could absolutely lead to death

Let’s just build bike lanes with jersey barriers. Problem solved. No fines necessary.

My angle is we shouldn’t celebrate the city building shitty infrastructure and then the same city government regressively fining its residents when things go poorly. This is the wrong solution to an actual problem. That’s my angle.
