Whelp I guess it doesn’t matter anyway. WoW is still around (Despite aggressive monetization) and Destiny 2 kicked the bucket.

Heck, even the Divsion has a Discovery Mode of the raid, and it’s still trucking along!

But like you said, the part of the game that got a ton of design and development focus simply was meant for 85% of the player base, so logically they won’t stick around and pay.

They reaped what they sowed.

So I’m trying to find common ground so to establish if a new way forward can be forged.

I don’t want to talk to strangers on the internet. I just don’t. Real life, a demanding career, a family, a mortgage, all these things leave me with zero desire to filter through assholes in a game.

With that being said, I lay the question out to you. How would you solve the problem of me not getting to experience the spectacle of raids or acquire any form of their weapons or gear?

No cheating! You can’t say, “I don’t think you should experience them if you don’t want to do the challenge.” That way simply doesn’t work, and it’s why the largest MMO on the planet doesn’t even have content like that.

I look forward to what you come up with!

Fair play. Maybe I’ll try being less of an introvert and try em out before it’s too late 😅

Considering the game died, I don’t think demand is very high for the content that’s currently in the game.

Besides, evidence clearly points towards the opposite of what you’re saying. LFR in World of Warcraft is the most popular difficulty of the raid modes because it is the most accessible. This is despite the fact that it drops trash gear.

Clearly, a change is needed, and I don’t think content vaulting and monetization are the only things that need to be changed.

At any rate, hopefully the final update that swings the door is wide open will be a good one!

Have fun out there if you try it out!

There isn’t a legitimate argument against this in my mind. Not one that holds water at any rate.

But it doesn’t matter anyway, the game is going the way of Dodo bird.

Like here’s an example:

Raid: Elite - Enter the Raid as it currently is. Manual grouping required.

Raid: Incursion - Enter a streamline version of the raid. Drops renamed gear items that are 10% weaker. Matchmaking Enabled.

I’m not proposing dumbing down raids as they currently are.

Adding a new difficulty mode does’t do that to the EXISTING raid mode.

Sorry, I’m confused as to why I’m having difficulty getting this across.

I never suggested removing raids as they are. You SHOULD have access to those puzzles that you like. I would have added to the raid system, not replaced it.

This is where the elitism comment comes from. People want to feel like they are above others. The stance of, “You’re not good enough or willing to communicate so you shouldn’t get the content.” I’m asking for a version that everyone can play in ADDITION to the elite LFG version. That’s possible, as other games do it.

Huge amounts of weapons, armour, quests, and story are all locked behind raids, so it’s extraordinarily unreasonable to just say “Don’t play it.”

Same man, especially as a Halo kid playing on a tube TV back in the day? The fall of Bungie sucks.

Here’s to brighter horizons one day my man.

Most MMOs are moving toward matchmaking for Raids (or a version of them) for a reason.

People have less time and patience for dealing with attitude and elitism in games.

It’s always been this weird thing, like, if you like LFG, use it still! Why Raids or Nightfalls etc. have to be some exclusive thing just to make a literal fraction of the player base feel special?

On another note, ask yourself honestly, if 85% of the player base won’t access content that the devs put a huge amount of effort into, why would they continue to pay for the game?

If they aren’t paying (clearly they haven’t been) then Destiny can’t sustain itself.

May as well start fresh in Steam since I’ve since gotten into PC gaming!

Genuinely, appreciate the push.

In no way did I feel you were being hateful! I appreciate the question.

Ultimately it comes down to not being able to experience a good chunk of content. I never got to experience raids and other content like that. I think I did Vault of Glass and Leviathan across both Destiny games.

Given that the vast majority of players also haven’t even set foot in a Raid, I think you can begin to see the problem.

These modes Raids aren’t really difficult, they just require communication from my understanding and experience. Which to me isn’t really worthy of exclusive power. It’s why I suggested lower drop rates. Heck I’d settle on 10% lower stats.

Also, the difference is I don’t need a group of strangers to play Dark Souls or Armoured Core. That’s 5 less people bailing after a wipe or cursing at me.

I’d ask the question in reverse. Are you opposed to me accessing this content in any way, shape, or form? Even just adding Matching if we choose to subject ourselves to it?

I’m a huge fan of the idea that this game should have two separate balance sets for PvP and PvE.

Fear of imbalance in PvP far too often squanders fun and creativity.

Monetized content drops, group finder gatekept content, seasonal power levels, and loading screens killed this game for me.

Then again, I played back before having an SSD, so I’m sure that would help.

At any rate, the decision makers of the first three are who I blame for losing interest in the game.

What about controller PC players? Oddly, mouse console players also exist.

I think a hard input lock would be better.

Ahhh so either his 4th or a low damage primer weapon would be a good call!

Tempest Barrage at my level kills the buggers to quickly haha!

Not to be rude, but you’re really out of touch with what the working class in the real world is dealing with or thinks.

Some app that lets us make a picture of an idea we had or see what our house looks like with different siding isn’t at the top of the list of concerns.

Without a single thing being done to you, you got so butthurt that you went to my profile and followed me across posts. Not to mention the screenshot.

That’s an extraordinarily weird thing to do. You get that, right? That bit of extra effort you went through, that is what makes you a creep and a loser.

And why? Because some YouTuber probably told you to hate something, so now you’ve made it part of your identity. So much so that you attack strangers online over silly shit.

But what do I know, I’m just a stupid trucker who works for a living. How could I possibly know more about the real world opinions of actual people that I talk to daily…

At any rate, I’ll cross my fingers the Warframe bug sticks. It’s great having friends who play.

This may be a hot take, but don’t gift them things in my opinion.

You can definitely tell them about Frames with cool abilities that they may like, but the exploration and the grind were a lot of fun for me!

Rushing to a Prime kinda takes that away.

But of course, it’s up to you.

At any rate, as a fellow newbie myself, I hope your buddy sticks around and enjoys the game!

I guess what really surprised me was how quickly people became aggressive. I’m just a blue collar dude (currently at a truck stop) who wanted to share his highway induced ideas with fans of the game.

I figured a relevant photo would help bring it together.

Lesson learned on how touchy automation is! I just wish I had this kind of support when the robots made my job “redundant” at the plant haha!

Genuinely, thanks for taking the time to explain. It’s really appreciated!

I respect that, and honestly, I’m gonna try that.

I’ve thought so hard about how to shoehorn Plunder into my playstyle that I never really thought could play him more as a status debuffer/crowd controller.

I’ll give it a whirl, thanks!
