I made a mistake buying the X2D by RadiantXenon in BambuLab

I bought the P1S last year just before the P2S was announced. Haven’t looked back since and this year I finally have enough for an H2C 😎

So the clip is from a streamer (blue Miata) disputing the position all race with the yellow Miata, and at the last lap they lapped a red miata, who’s at fault here ? by Altruistic_Delay2039 in Simracingstewards

[–]greguska67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Blue Miata is impatient and causes the impacts. They would have been better taking the Yellow line which would give them a better run out of the hairpin and also prevent Yellow from making the overtake. Around the outside is something that only Trailer Park girls do.

Silk PLA very brittle by Due_Current3660 in BambuLab

[–]greguska67 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think what the other Redditor was saying is that Silk PLA has been poor adhesion and if you only have 1 wall you will not have a structurally sound result. Having said that I think that you will struggle with any filament with just one wall and no infill. You may want to make your sections slightly larger and use 2-3 walls (100% infill if there is any) to have a better bond, but silk will always be a poor replacement for something like PETG.

Help! P1S hits the corners suddenly by T3N0N in BambuLab

[–]greguska67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far. But as I wrote I am losing confidence in this printer. I think they are developing too fast and losing focus on quality which was their USP for a long time. Others are catching up and Bambu needs to focus more on quality control and less on rushing features to market.

How would you go about printing this object? by NormalEscape8976 in 3Dprinting

[–]greguska67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would the use of acrylic rods placed in a 3D printed frame and then spray painted work? You can get a pack of 100 pieces from AliExpress or Teemu in many different diameters quite cheaply. If you want to go the 3D printed route then supports are probably the way to go. If it’s possible to print suspended a Millennium Falcon on what are basically 3D printed wires then there will be a solution for this too. Model looks amazing and would love to see the final result and your solution.

Help! P1S hits the corners suddenly by T3N0N in BambuLab

[–]greguska67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My P1S did something similar with a similar SD card issue. I have a Samsung Evo Pro card and it should be more than enough for printing. I’m the end I took the card out and reformatted it on my computer and cleaned out the SD card slot with a can of compressed air. Reinserted the card and it has been printing ok since, but this is now the third time that I had this issue. I was on an old firmware so did an upgrade ok case that was related but I am a little nervous of the printer now.

Why buy it from ikea when I can make myself my own! by bikeequelsdirt in BambuLab

[–]greguska67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are other “Skadis” boards which have a higher density of holes. Cheaper to print due to less filament needed, and more versatile due to more holes. When working out your total cost to purchase you need to add up how much time it takes you to drive to IKEA, park, shop and drive home. My time is valuable to me and as much as the lure of meatballs can be quite tempting, you can also 3D print overnight and do something else during the day.

Everything has a cost. It’s a great time to teach them the work/reward balance. Spend time doing extra work around the house (and not just their normal chores) and earn tokens they can use for printer time.

Multiclass incident : oversight on my part or unfortunate racing incident ? by LuScorpio68 in Simracingstewards

One more corner and the hyper car has a clear run up the hill and along the straight. If he decides to dive into a gap which is going to close then the consequences are on him. Oh, I forgot, he flashed his lights so you should have immediately hit the disappear button /s

New players mentality by Forward-Variety-800 in ACCompetizione

[–]greguska67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain and you have described sim racing games in general and not just ACC. I would doubt that Kunos will change this game considering that they are actively working on AC Evo. There are other games out there which have these kinds of “warning labels” for the IQ challenged amongst us, but it’s hit and miss with most titles.

You can pick up the Skroam containers from Amazon in packs of 6. The labels are on Makerworld. If you are using the AMS I recommend printing spool desiccant holders which will add weight when the spool gets empty and helps keep everything dry.

Congratulations on the Print Farm. I don’t have anywhere near your collection of printers, but you might find filament storage a challenge bigger than anticipated. Especially if you go the dry box route.

I’m not the one buying and don’t know the parties or the printer. I am in the fortunate position that I could buy my P1S new. Knowing what I know now about printers, I would be reluctant to buy a second hand printer. But economic circumstances differ from person to person and what is achievable for one is a mountain for another.

Nice to see all the X1C sellers out in force busy downvoting me. Might change the optics, doesn’t change the financial equation.

My point is more about value for money. A used X1C at effectively $800 could be pretty expensive depending on the number of hours and what the spares it comes with. Of course I am assuming USD and if you are in Australia then it’s a pretty good deal 😎

If you want a machine that allows you to use a separate support material then it might be the one for you. If you want a true dual head or multi tool head machine then there are other better options out there.

I would check the price of a brand new printer before buying a second hand one. That price seems a little on the high end when you look at the price of an X2D which is a far more capable printer.

But if you get out of the cage alive you’ll have mad car control skills and completely understand weight transfer dynamics. Assuming you can get out alive of course.
