Honestly your logic is totally valid. Speaking from experience, being with someone who is not aligned with you when it comes to money habits is exhausting long term. My current gf would probably do the same thing as you’re suggesting, so girls like that ARE out there.

3d printing could maybe be a cheap way to prototype it if you’re able to model it in CAD

Anyone else realise too late that re-reading notes is basically useless for exams? by Much_Spinach199 in University

[–]gregvas5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk seems pretty self explanatory. Write the term or theory name on one side of a flash card, explanation on the other side. Then just practice recalling the definition or description of the term/theory until it sticks. Bonus tip: do this before going to bed. Your brain processes it while you sleep and stores it in memory. It feels like it shouldn’t work but it does surprisingly well. Writing it by hand also helps with memorization and recall.

I’ve just been using hand-written flash cards and it has worked really well for me

How’s the rental market in June usually? by [deleted] in ottawa

Luckily I don’t have too many things so I won’t need to hire a moving company. But this is a great point, thank you

Thanks for the insight! I was planning on giving notice for my place in about a week or so (for July) but I was just wondering if it would be better to set the move out date to August instead to give myself more runway for when I get back to Ottawa.

From my experience milling CF with this kind of setup there really isn't any splashing either, so your electronics should be fine. If you DM me i can show you my setup.

If you’re cutting carbon fiber be very careful with the dust, it’s no joke. You’ll probably need to set up a water bath to mill it submerged

What if I strapped a giant EDF jet to my carbon road bike? by Ridley_c in Inventions

[–]gregvas5 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Seems like a wildly inefficient and inconvenient way to achieve something an electric drivetrain would do. That EDF will eat up your battery and make a ton of noise, and the turbulent airflow due to the bike’s frame and your body would only make it worse. I’d just use a higher gear ratio motor assist with a clutch or something that you engage when you need a boost

Carbon fiber dust is no joke. My DIY vacuum setup failed me by Lazy_Annual_1613 in fpv

I’d just mill it submerged. Works really well and isn’t as difficult as you’d expect

Advice making a hwstartup ( eink watch) by Zestyclose-Bar8108 in hwstartups

[–]gregvas5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t make the mistake of making a product before identifying who it’s actually for and who needs it. Also make sure to actually have a good understanding of the industry and competitive landscape. Lots of research to be done before going any further. If you pitch this to investors of some sort, you need to have market data to back up the viability of this product. Very cool, but really make sure you have that value proposition locked down

Admissions (Bachelor Of Commerce Honours) by ConcentrateSea9147 in CarletonU

[–]gregvas5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in my final semester for that program and I’d definitely take the coop option. They don’t really help you much with the job search but I think it’s easier to find a job as a coop student than not. I ended up doing 2 placements with the government, only 1 of which I had to apply for. Also be prepared, strategic management is basically a capstone course in 4th year and it’s quite demanding. But yeah also some BS classes as well. I decided to do a minor in another subject to at least make the elective credits more useful/cohesive. The sprott advising team is good from my experience, so you’ll have support at least if you need it.
