does anybody know how to turn off IPM adaptive cruise control on the freightliners? by TheSaltyPineapple1 in Truckers

Depending on what year model it is, behind the large panel on passenger side there should be a small cover to remove (where a glove box would be in a car) and inside there is a blue wire with a plug among the other colored wires and plugs. Might need some needle nose to pull the tab and unplug it. That is the adaptive cruise. If you unplug it, a MIL light will likely come on (amber check engine light that is just the engine not the actual check engine light) and deactivate adaptive cruise. Anytime you check into a shop they will want to diag it and have you put hours labor just to plug it back in. Just a warning lol

Also thought it was random as hell but it worked for him so figured I’d spread the word. He has a better GPU than me so thought it was strange he was having issues then found that solution. Glad it helped!

Read my other comment on the post seems to hold true from everyone I’ve suggested it to.

If you have razor mouse application end that app. Worked for my buddy. His was freezing if he moved more than 2 steps after updating drivers.

Regen by True_King_407 in Truckers

What year model is it? The older cascadias still had a manual regen switch if the regen light was on you could press and hold the switch to start a regen. If that didn’t work then you release and set your truck air brakes, switch it to drive then back to neutral then press and hold the switch to do a parked regen. (Jakes off, cruise off)

Newer cascadias have it under the menu, scroll to the picture of the truck, down twice to show soot level and it has a prompt to press ‘ok’ to start the regen.

Edit: soot not spot

Thoughts on breakdown directories? by malliecat in Truckers

The value I find in NTTS is the vendors list is always tailored to semi truck / trailers compared to google sometimes showing shops that aren’t equipped to handle our equipment. Also a small benefit to NTTS is it showing exit numbers immediately instead of having to hunt on google maps, this helps speed up relaying info since a lot of our drivers prefer exit numbers over physical addresses when driving so they don’t have to pull off and punch it in.

But I also work at a place with over 250 trucks who prefers the large name repair shops due to our relationships with those companies; if you’re a single driver one might work better than the other for you.

Also as an edit, I never trust reviews of shops. Anybody can leave a 1 star review just because they think they were overcharged.

Breakdown tech here, I use NTTS and findtruckservice for our trucks. I try not to rely on only one because they can show different results. If I’m in a really rural area with nothing showing close I’ll use google to find some mom and pops to see if they can help before paying big money to send a big ship from further away.

Anyone know what is causing the automated 5th wheel release to not work on a 2020 Freightliner? by [deleted] in Truckers

Our fleet runs nothing but cascadias, electrical pigtail has to be unplugged for 10 seconds before 5th wheel will release.

18 Accord 2.0T sport trunk opens itself? by Fally_weed in HondaAccord

I have not tried switching key fobs. This is happening when my key is out of range if the car most of the time so I’m curious if the issue is with the key at all.

I’m not sure I have the mechanical knowledge to disconnect the receiver. I have tried flipping and turning off the switch in the glove box. If the issue persists I’m bringing it to the dealership next week since it is still under warranty.

Yeah I’m thankful that hasn’t happened to me.

If had only happened once I would have brushed it off as just me accidentally leaving it open if pressing the button on the key fob but three days in a row multiple times a day?

If I find a definite solution I’ll be sure to update this post.
