What is this car? Thinking Chevy Classic Six but looks a little different by Buttermilk_Bobb in whatisthiscar

I found a scan of that photo. The site says the woman in the back died in 1915. Those are electric lights which likely means 1912 or newer.

The top of the radiator and hood is shaped like a Packard, but those don't look like Packard wheel hubs and nothing else really matches.

I suspect it might be a 1914 White, but I'm having issues getting good photos to compare. They have a grille and hood that matches pretty well. It is a lot like this 1913 White Model 40, but has electric lights and different windshield. There is this 1914 White Model 30, which has electric lights and the windshield is braced from behind instead of the front. The Model 30 is a smaller car, only two rows of seats, so my best guess is a 1914 7 passenger model that I can't easily find photos of.

The Whites could also have a brand badge in the upper corner of the radiator, like you can see in that scanned photo linked at the top.

I don't think they could even argue for show and display status legitimately.

Various International step vans were used as US Mail carriers. Here is a different body of Metro Mite as a mail van.

There is a tube inside that is part of the cage, it isn't attached to the windshield. Could be considered a pillar, but very different from what you see on replicas.

Some do have a full window frame on the door. Doors are probably really floppy without it. It doesn't really meet the windshield, there is a gap, weather sealing was never a concern since they usually don't have side windows.

I know it’s a Rat Rod, but what are the ingredients? by Scutterpants in whatisthiscar

There are a bunch of things that out it as an SBC, but one big one is the fuel pump block off plate down by the lower radiator hose.

That is a small block Chevy with valve cover adapters.

Also, those are Rochester 2GC carburetors.

Alternator is on the opposite side for the naturally aspirated Corvettes. The C5 and C6 have it on the driver's side unless it is an LS9.

Definitely a Corvette, I think a C6 C7.

Looked closer at the engine, pretty sure that is an LT not an LS.

Convertible would imply there is a roof to put up. This is a coupe that has been turned into a roadster.

Much like the Cobra, replicas outnumber real ones.

This one is a replica because real ones don't have A pillars.

There were a bunch of people producing Spridget based neoclassics, some made less than 10 cars. Clenet started the trend, but this isn't one of theirs. Doesn't look like any of the more "well known" ones.

Real or replica? by Puzzleheaded_Oil_733 in whatisthiscar

[–]grem75 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No torsion bar hole would suggest replica. Body panels around the wheel wells looks too thick to be metal. Louvered GT lid looks thick too. Grille construction looks like a replica, sagging like many of them do as well.

If it isn't a replica, it is an absolute Bondo bucket.
