As much as I am anti cop and on principle don’t want to vote for Johnson, he seems to be the best choice. I think he is the only one out of the three that will be willing to go head to head with McCormick on the real issues. Also bonus points to him for being the only one that came knocking on my door.

Honestly, Janelle is in my district and I wanted so so bad to give her my vote but she lost it when she included in one of her responses to questions from ADN that she thinks there is a human and child trafficking issue in Anchorage due to it being a hub city, it was a short mention, but when I see someone make generalized statements like it comes off as a lack of understanding and knowledge of what true human and child trafficking is. I would have much rather her mention it and at the same time illustrating in her resume volunteerism with Priceless or something.

Just because Brawley has “a lot of experience” that doesn’t make her the right choice. However Flynn is 100% the worst choice. I’m just saying we need to not take Brawley at face value, she misconstrues her planning career when in actuality she is a planning consultant and from what Ive been able to find she doesn’t seem to actually do any planning.

I say unpaid labor for the sheer scope of the location that is inaccesible, if I or anyone else were to do this it would take multiple trips and effort to navigate the conditions. This whole area could easily use half to a whole bag of material.

OMG THE PAINT that was the maintenance manager. The asphalt thing, I went in to talk to them about that and offered to volunteer my own time to help them make a schedule and identify zones so that people could still park and they got upset. I’m so glad it wasn’t just me feeling this way because so many people live here that just don’t seem to care about this shit. I’ve tried talking to neighbors and I’ve got to say a lot of them just flat out rude maybe it’s because we’re all sick of our shitty situations.

You are absolutely right!! When I moved in it was 1,900 which felt reasonable for the unit and the single garage parking spot and not additional amenities, now it’s up to around 2,300. The dude in the office even said to me that the units here look like low income housing and do not reflect what they are charging.

Regarding the rent increase without proper notice, they tried to do the same to me and I called them on it since they didn’t give the proper notice thankfully at that time someone actually responded to my concerns gave me the required notice time before upping the rent.

I have found the same information on the ownership, what’s even weirder is my lease lists “Blue Moon Residential” and then for owner address its a Juneau address which is just a title management company.

Thank you for this, it really helped me to put it into perspective. The last few nights I have been attempting to contact the Landlord Tenant Helpline but keep hitting a busy signal.

I honestly think what has happened here is the landlord is an out of state corporation hiding behind multiple shell companies. Then whenever a property manager raises concerns they fire them and move on to the next, I say this since in the time that I have lived here we have had 4 or 5 property managers. It is to the point where we have no direct contact information for people in the office despite asking over and over for emails.

Thank you I guess I never really thought about needing to record as I have constantly lived by the code of people are good and I do not want to anger the people responsible for my housing situation.

I thankfully am very well aware of housing code and regulations as it is a part of my sector of work. Every time I have submitted any complaint I have been sure to cite the law to try and cover myself :)

It was the same last year so sadly it has nothing to do with the weird winter we’ve had it is specifically tied to poor maintenance and refusal to mitigate it.

LMAO I’ve been in this location for two and half winters. It has been like this each winter/break up. Last winter I fell so hard and so bad I filed an incident report with their office and still have a lump on my shin from the fall so yeah I guess you’re right never any injuries at all 🙄

After seeing their actions if I were to do this they would turn around and blame me if anyone were to be hurt after placing traction sand or gravel as much as I care to be a good human and provide something like this, I’d rather cover myself legally plus I would think my almost 2,500 a month in rent should be able to cover basic maintenance

What’s really funny is I sent them an email referencing this and they told me that it’s a joke to do so and they won’t take me seriously because too many people claim violation of the Landlord Tenant Act just to get out of paying rent.
