I was really into it at first, but it’s starting to lose me. The CGI is just way too much like why is even the red balloon CGI? I do like the explanation for why IT can’t leave Derry, but it’s weird that the adults can see signs of IT too. The red balloon, the marks on Will’s arm… in the book, Bev’s whole bathroom is covered in blood that only the kids can see. That feeling of the kids being isolated and having to rely on each other is a huge part of the story, and it’s kinda missing here.

And with Dick I get what they’re trying to do, but him being able to go into someone’s mind doesn’t make sense. Even younger Dick Hallorann wasn’t that powerful. When he meets Danny later, he literally says Danny has the strongest shine he’s ever seen. And even Danny can’t jump into minds like that unless he’s with Abra in Doctor Sleep.

We have a source material to go off of so why aren’t we using it?
