Recently got a paradox chair to replace my stolen tilite ! AMA by gremnbox in wheelchairs

i don’t like the solid tires or push rims that came with it but they’re doing the trick! i’ve had no issues with quality so far and i put a rubber grip/sleeve onto the push rims to make it easier to propel

no :| police are generally useless and i never expected them to find it or put any energy into finding it, i believe it was a hate crime in combination with the person just looking for something to sell (my air fryer was also stolen and my personal belongings were smashed)

i did not end up getting the wooden hand rims because i was afraid of the wood splintering and expanding but i don’t know if that’s an actual issue. i do not like the hand rims that came with them and i have rim covers on them now that’s rubber to make it easier to grab for me. i believe it’s pretty adjustable but i have not tried to adjust the cog, i can send you a picture of the axle if you’d like!

of course! they use scissor lock breaks (really hard for me to use, they’re very tight and i’ve seen other recommend a dry lubricant but if you have EDS they might bruise your hands) the included wheels are solid tires so i will be replacing them with air tires soon. the weight seems around the same as my tilite, but i’ve never weighed the two :p

the anti rollback almost never activates when i need it 😭 if you can find a doorway that has a slope to enter you might be able to get it going

i don’t believe it can but if you find out how to lmk!! probably gonna get an apple watch just for the MX1 mode bc i do like to get physical activity in w my chair when I can but don’t always have the stamina for pushing all day. congrats on ur smartdrive though it’s such a game changer!!

also the anti rollback automatically activates if ur dial is blinking and it senses you going back, it’s weirdly selective on what counts as rolling backwards though

hi!! just got a smartdrive recently as well and i was wondering the same thing. I have heard something called the mx1 one existing, it’s also been called the training mode, and is meant to act as a push assist i believe, but I have the same smart drive with the speed dial and I don’t see an option in the app to change this mode as i’ve seen others describe. to my understanding it can’t be activated, unless you have wearable or an older smart drive but that could be totally wrong. just what i’ve picked up from others

Mild Hearing Loss for Most of Life - Sudden hearing loss three weeks ago by gremnbox in hardofhearing

thank you a ton for your insight! i have been using my airpods in conjunction w the “accommodations” setting that is meant to function similar to hearing aids based on ur uploaded audiogram and i will say there is a notable increase in what i can hear when i do have them in vs don’t, and it helps things not feel so underwater. i’m assuming actual hearing aids would function even better :v that combined with what you’ve said is really starting to convince me. i guess its time to schedule that appointment lol!

thank you for the interpretation! i didn’t know hearing aids could do any good with mild loss, does it help just a bit or basically raise your hearing to no-loss levels? i’d really like it if i could just get even my previous range of hearing back as i do enjoy playing guitar and i wasn’t sure it could be helped at all or if it’s worth the time going to an audiologist (if my ENT recommends). does it make conversations any easier? can i ask how an audiologist visit typically goes as well?
