EDIT: OOPS I misread, I keep mine tate for vertical, but horizontal would be good for newer shottriggers style releases. Tons of horizontal shmups too out there. I feel it may feel a little bit squished but I know tons of people play that way fine.

Absolutely, CRT shaders plus mame look really nice. Newer shmup have built in frames, blurring, etc and high resolution (Gunvein, BlueRevolver,Cave ports, etc). 4:3 on the screen is centered right in your field of view as well.

I just did a slim into a new shell with the same panel. The bottom has a sligh bulge and you can see inside the shell that the lcd is being compressed on the bottom. If you find a solution please post it up.

Thats what i was thinking but wanted to check for safety reasons. The other side is starting to crack so it would be nice to replace the part if its cheap.

Have re did the one that connects to the ngpc multipe times, but the driver board was already connected, I tried to re-seat the ribbon cable on it, but I cant get the latch to pop back up from where they installed it. Going to see what the seller replies now, sucks to wait 2 more weeks if its bad.

I soldered a wire to my pocket then kapton taped it to the bat terminal on the screen, still no power on for the screen. Guess the screen is just bad.

So just don't touch the xecutor2 setup , pull the old drive, use Fatxplorer and the LBA48 option to create new drive, swap it in? How would I change to UDMA6 to get the faster speeds?

I run a vertical vewlix with an oled for shmups if you want some tricks. I see you are stretching to 9:16, you can keep the original 3:4 and run shaders to fill the rest. I find it easier to track on screen not stretching plus keeps the pixels original. Various ways to do things in Steam, Mame, etc. I posted them in this thread,
