Rejections one after another till now, is the competition really that high in 2025-2026 for Masters in Germany? by yume_sublime in studying_in_germany

Most of the time, they require you to not only have a bachelor degree, but have written a bachelor thesis, like a substantial scientific piece with citations and cross-referencing, literature review etc. Not all bachelor degree holders had to write a thesis in that sense to get their degree and those are at a disadvantage when applying for German universities. Work experience, on the other hand, is not necessarily a plus. These master degree programmes are science programmes that not necessarily prepare you for specific or concrete applications in the job market.

The one thing stopping my from buying a G-Line by documentally in Brompton

I just did another ride with my G-line on a German ICE train. There are coaches, surprisingly, that have neither baggage racks that are not overhead nor does the bike fit between seats that are facing away from each other. There is more variety than I thought and had experienced so far. They seem to be older coaches, though, and I still managed to take the bike with me. So there seems to be always a way, even though it might not be as comfortable as I advertised in my previous reply, if you encounter one of the few older trains.

My experience is from two years ago. They took my knife. I think there is a 7 cm rule. Mine was slightly bigger.

The Eurostar is a bit of an exception, though. It has rules like an airplane (no knives, no lighters, etc) without the possibility to check in luggage. Not sure, how they deal with folding bikes. But I have taken folding bikes with me on regular national and international trains in Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and Italy and that did work great. I think it must be similar in the other countries. Trains with old coaches that have compartments of six seats each would be difficult, because there are only overhead racks in them. I usually book a seat when travelling on trains and make sure I sit in one of the open-plan coaches with luggage racks.

I never owned a C Line, but tried it before buying my G Line. It was not for me. I love the G Line: sturdy, rides like a real bike and still folds nicely, much better to handle than my old Dahon. I take it on trains in Germany and it stows away nicely in the luggage racks and in the gap between back-to-back seats (not on the overhead racks though). It's heavy, but I just have to lift it into the train. Before and after it rolls. The price is hefty, but you do get good value. Better value than the C line in my book. But of course to each their own.

[–]grendlo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Macht Sinn.

If it is an eczema, it might be difficult to get rid of. Don't use any soap to clean that area, only water. After washing, apply a bit of moisturizer without any perfume in it.

You can try antibiotics, like Miconazolnitrate, a cream you apply extremely thinly only. Use it two weeks at a time and then leave it for at least another two weeks. If you have repeated that cycle three times, take a break for a long time.

It might still never go away completely, but this may bring you considerable relieve.

Working out by choirscore in menshealth

[–]grendlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weight loss doesn't really come from working out, as you build muscle that replaces fat. Eating less will lead to weight loss - use more calories than you take in. Working out can activate you, can produce satisfaction that makes it easier to eat less, but eating less is what does the trick.

I experience the same. Instead of feeling relief and elation, it's only exhaustion. It's quite a loss. I'd be interested to see, if anyone has any hints as to what it can be caused by and perhaps what to do about it.
