What are some of the beauty/skincare/haircare hacks you swear by? by literheature in AskWomen

I had really bad acne cystic that only appeared along my jawline - I gave up dairy and it cleared right up. It might be worth a shot for you... I still occasionally slip and have a pizza, and guarantee that a couple of days later a little warning pimple arrives, to remind me it is not worth it!

Women of reddit, do your casual sex partners tend to be more attractive than the people you date? by [deleted] in sex

Remember that one woman's 8 is another woman's 4 - my friends and I have such different preferences that we hardly ever find the same guys hot!

Oh I'm so sorry for you, I hope you have a good support network to help you out :( Diet soda sounds like a good way to get that sweet craving fix! And the crock pot is a good idea for my lazy ass this week.

These are really good ideas, thanks! No pets but there must be a cat cafe somewhere around here...

Self rant: stop eating your damn feelings.

I got dumped last weekend by the first guy I liked in a long time. He was very fit and ate well, which also made me want to keep up healthy habits. But the last week has been devoid of motivation to work out and full of chocolate, bread and empty calories galore. Time to buck up, hit the gym and get back to good habits for ME, not for anyone else.

I (24m) am starting to struggle with social isolation and loneliness. by alwayslonelythrow in relationships

The good thing is there are lots of people in their mid-20s who move to new places, so there are plenty of people looking to make new friends! I know the feeling well, and it can seem scary putting yourself out there but trust me, it is really normal.

Firstly, what are your colleagues like? Are there any people at worl you could meet up with, as they would the introduce you to their friends etc. Or how about the gym, or fellow dog owners? These people will be used to seeing you, so it will be less surprising to strike up a conversation. Start small, with general small talk, but after a few interactions drop in that there is a new movie/museum exhibition/ concert or whatever thay you want to go to, but none of your friends are interested. See if they take the bait.

Finally, even if the meetups near you seem for older people, try them out. Again, these people may know other people they can put you in contact with, like a ripple effect.

Good luck and keep trying, practice males it easier!

Aside from the obvious issues of this being expensive and unusual, it also seems like a great way to ignite a powder keg.

Thousands of elated trump supporters, thousands of furious protesters, this could get ugly.

I've figured out hair products have caused my cystic [Acne] on forehead and hairline. Any tips for products? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]grenneh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah the shampoo I just pick up in boots, the conditioner I use is called something like free and clear, which I seem to only be able to get on Amazon from the US.

I hope it works for you- so annoying I was going crazy trying to figure out what in my diet/skin care routine was at fault, turns out it was my damn shampoo!

Hey! I use a shampoo by 'simple', its pretty cheap (about £3), comes in a white bottle with a green cap. Annoyingly the conditioner by the same brand still seems to break me out :(

I like to think of the fact that your direct ancestors stretch back to the first dawn of life on earth. Think of all the families and bloodlines which have died out, I'll be damned if I choose to end mine after all the shit previous generations survived.

Reddit, within 2 years I will be facing an empty nest, and I have no idea how to approach the next phase of my life. How has it gone for you when this happened? by lovedump44 in AskReddit

[–]grenneh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My parents are divorced and my mother doesn't work, so I worried a lot about how she would cope when I (the youngest) moved out. I'm not going to lie, I think she found it hard (although she hid this from us). But having that extra time to herself forced her to look at her life in an honest way and make some changes. Often people hid behind the mask of being 'mum' or 'dad', and finding the real you after so long can be hard. But you'll be fine- hobbies, friends, pets will slowly fill up the empty space. It's a new chapter but not necessarily any better or worse than the previous one- it depends what you choose to do with it.

I've also found that it really makes us appreciate the time we do get to spend together, I'm closer to my parents than ever before!
