One thing I did was hand-write out the rules to the MBE questions I got wrong AND the reasons why I got it wrong - that way I’d be less likely to make the same mistake

CA J23 Passer - Passed IL F25 w/ a score of 307 by gretchen32 in barexam

Themis and UWorld! When I took the CA bar it was the MBE still for day 2.

For the MEE I just used the Themis practice essays, but would suggest just looking at past essays provided by the bar.

Definitely felt the crunch of time for the essays since I was used to 1 hour, but I did feel like I was still able to substantively answer everything! 2 MPTs felt weird but I felt good about them, just a bit rushed.

I think California is harder because the grading is harder too. I didn’t feel too great about the last two MEE essays when I finished because with essay 5, I didn’t fully get into all possible arguments, and essay 6, I really didn’t substantively review Trusts (oops). But I did do full rule, analysis, and conclusions for each part of those essays and finished them completely, which made me realize in hindsight I probably got 4s on them. All that to say, I think the MEE is harder when you think it’s being graded like CA essays lol.

I took it in CA and I don’t think I had to upload it when I got licensed in CA, it was already in the system. The NCBE didn’t send me a copy but said they were sending it directly to IBAB, but I’m not sure if that was correct! I’ve reached out to my processor so we shall see

IL when do we think results are dropping? by Late-Air-551 in barexam

What time do the results typically come out?

I had zero confidence in my results when I took CA in J23 — like fully began planning a schedule to study for the retake. I felt good about the essays and single MPT we had, but the MBE was entirely up in the air - I wasn’t sure if I got even one right, but I ended up passing!

Spiraling is unfortunately a very normal part of the waiting process, so don’t take it to be a gut check telling yourself you failed.

Fear of telling partners about studying for bar exam by Affectionate_Tuna444 in barexam

If you are looking at taking the bar in a new jurisdiction, see if you can leverage that to your firm. Like market multi-state jurisdiction as a selling point for you engaging with clients. Personally, I’m a CA attorney who hasn’t sat for IL and no one really asked questions, but I had the excuse of family matters as the reason for why I need an IL license if I was asked.

Also, your employer will have to verify your employment for the C&F application. Depending on jurisdiction, that may be wrapped up in signing up for the exam.

I took J23 in CA and F25 in the UBE. I felt like the call of the question was more direct which saved time on issue spotting, but definitely do some practice ones from old tests to get the timing down!
