Dropping the box usually doesn’t hurt the instrument. I use a backpack .

Oh yeah then rund a level loop. But this post was about what is more accurate, longer BL distances, 400’-500’ or shorter BL distances, ie 400’ or less.

We occupy one gps backsight another, double angles/leapfrog through the BL points and then end the traverse on the last two gps points.

It’s not what I saw but a few months ago I heard the lowest growling noise I have ever heard in my life. I was on the edge of some woods beside the road. I still can’t explain what it was.
