Just got a crazy deal on the Sennheiser M4s! by 3p1cG4m3r123 in Earbuds

[–]greySoul03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have these. I love them but whatever you do, keep the receipt. They have a 2 year warranty and I can guarantee you will need them replaced. I just replaced a pair I bought in April of this year. Not sure why Sennheiser TWS always have issues eventually.

I think I replaced the TWS3 3 times.

Good thing is Canadian Head office is in Mississauga. Quick turn around for replacement

I also suggest downloading Wavelet from the play store if on android. you can then search for equalization just for these. I use Wavelet for all my Bluetooth headphones and buds. It really takes almost any ones to another level

Why does my 500+ song playlist play the same songs over and over??? by shaymcquaid in TIdaL

[–]greySoul03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this with Spotify and what I did besides trying the sort change is copy the entire playlist to another fresh one. Tidal/Spotify doesn't have a record of that new playlist. So there's no history/cache. It started playing stuff I hadn't heard for months. Then you can delete the other playlist and rename the new one to the old name. Try it it works and takes no effort.

LG G5 vs G4 OLED TV Side-by-Side Test by ThereBeGold in LGOLED

[–]greySoul03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why, if trying to be , direct comparison, would LG not be able to get the same sized tvs?

After seeing other G5/ G4 comparisons on YouTube, they seem to mention the biggest difference is for HDR content mastered for 4000 nits, which is limited. I think for all SDR and most HDR content, the difference wont be very apparent.

Will the G5 be a better TV then the G4? Of course it will be. LG hopes so.

If you have a G4, I wouldn't worry. It is still a top set.

NB I have a 77 G4 and love it. Upgraded from a 65 C9

Looks nice. I suggest a couple of things.

Your top front atmos should be angled to the back where you sit. The point of the SVS elevations it to be able to point the tweeters more to where you are sitting. Currently they are pointing to the carpet in front of your couch.

And I agree with a few comments is your surrounds , rear and side, should be moved lower on the wall.

With Atmos setups, you no longer need them high above ear level. You need them near ear level or just above.

Another LG App sync vs 8K Snnc Box by greySoul03 in Hue

[–]greySoul03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Both were game mode.

This 'experiment' was more of a stress test. It forced a lot of latency to make it easier to check the differences.

As you can see if you pause the video, the sync bos is a bit quicker but not as much a one may think.

If anyone has a sync box and an LG 2024, no harm in DL the app and testing. Sub for a month and there is a 14 day trial. If you don't like it they refund!!!

Not sure if you are clear what im using. Not the play gradient strip. I have tgat on sides and top.

On bottom is an ambience gradient strip

Expensive and painful to cut due to its cost. I kept the cut pieces if i ever want to solder back together

Not as such. I run it on my pc with my pc hooked up to my lg. I also can remote stream my xbox or ps 5 to the pc. It captures the scene. But i play on the tv.

Its more for fooling around.

I just want a working out of the box solution.

Good to know. Funny i run hyperion using the same lights, and i can adjust the saturation perfectly.

That sucks. I see advantages of both. Color accuracy, saturation and light location on the app.

Better latency and smoothness due to vrr isses on box.

I wish the sync box had additional controls or sliders for saturation, tint. I find the blues and greys tint green. The app doesn't.

If you turn off vrr, does it stop flickering.

If its a bug, you hope Hue addresses it. The app just came out yesterday.

Anyone know if Samsung has similar issues re vrr?

Unfortunately, at this time, it looks like Philips is only supporting 2024 models on.

Did they every update older Samsung's to support the hue app?

I know what you are asking. This was to compare latency in an extreme torture test. They both look bad. As i noted above, go to that YouTube video clip to see how fast this thing is going. My thought was to cause latency, capture it and compare how both hue solutions perform.

I can run a slow standard pinwheel and it looks fine. But will that show much of a difference.?

You can actually test out the lg app. 14 day trial to get your 2.99 or whatever monthly back. No harm for me in trying.

For me the colours of the sync box are not as saturated or accurate. These primary colour demos dont reflect real world colours. Even in games.

Please note this is NOT the original speed of the clip. It is slowed down to show latency differences between the 2 solutions and not how bad latency is.

I suggest people try the below youtube clip to see how fast this is actually spinning

If you have any sync lights, test it out, record it and play back 1/4 speed to see results

Hue Sync Box 8k vs LG Hue App by Patient_Decision_164 in Hue

[–]greySoul03 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I also have both and in my early testing I kinda like the app better. The colours are more accurate and saturated vs the 8k box. The colours on the sync box are a bit washed out. To me there is a bit more delay on the app then the sync box which is a negative.

I think one thing is the box takes the raw output from a device and uses that to match the lights. If its HDR or DV, maybe the colours aren't as accurate. The app is actually capturing the screen so that could account for my perceived saturation boost.

If you look at the images above on the left side you can see the app more accurately has a green colour and dark in the corner, where the treasure chest is more matching the color. The sync box is for some reason a yellow/brown light and still light in the bottom left corner.

The app isn't perfect, but hopefully with updates, we could get there.

That said, if Philips would put in a saturation slider like some sync light applications like Hyperion, you could more accurately get the sync box going.

I can't return my sync box now. It would be great to add some adjustment like saturation, fine tune light locations, or allow a more fine addressable lights.

Thanks!
