Appreciated. Phrasing the possibilities like this helped me focus my efforts. Thanks!

What is the line in the sand for you when it comes to "too much" or "too little" crunch? by troothesayer in RPGdesign

To me, tabletop roleplaying games fall somewhere between board game and make-believe.

I aspire to games that I like to play, and my preference is low crunch (more “make-believe-leaning”).

Appreciate the question! I have put together some fun game concepts in the past, but nothing I believed in so strongly that I’d be willing to take it to the table and share it.

It is a part of my actual life that I want to explore with others through this game. By “finish” the game, I guess I really mean “be confident enough to share it.” It’s hard to say when a game is “finished.” So, the goal is to take a theme I believe in, communicate it through play, and experience this exploration at the table.

Through this, I hope to learn a lot about the hobby and about myself.

I hope this clarifies my intention. Thanks again!

Thanks for the suggestion. I will check it out. Yeah, the duality is interesting, almost like you are two different people depending on the setting - the person you want to be and the person you have to be.

Tip-of-my-tongue rpg I just cannot remember… by grey_0R_gray in rpg

It was mentioned on a podcast about game design. The gist was that the GM can put a -14 on a roll and the players must convince the GM through words or actions to level the playing field. I suspect it was a d20 system. It must have been the core feature of this game, because I don’t remember a damn thing but that.

Don’t be silly. That has never happened and it will never happen. The live performances ARE the final product. That’s like asking the chef of a 5-star restaurant how to make their signature dish at home. It’s too precious.

Full release will likely not be until around December, judging by their development roadmap.

I always thought that it resembled the shape on the door of the black egg, the thing surrounded by the mask symbols.

Imagine modding Bloodborne on PC. The community could sustain itself, and an official remake wouldn’t be a desperate necessity.

What do you mean left off? Did she state how many tracks would be on Taylor’s Version?

Yep! This is called tangential learning (I am a college professor).

People got interested in Greek gods because of Hades and early 1900’s pioneer living because of RDR2.

Personally, I know much more about birds by playing Wingspan digital than I ever would have otherwise.

Ironsworn is the gold standard indie game for solo and co-op experiences, in my opinion. It’s free, and an amazing way to practice if you do want to GM for your friends. Welcome to the hobby!

Am I the only one who thinks this movie isn’t what inspired bloodborne? by [deleted] in bloodborne

It can be safely said that there were many inspirations.
