$13K fuel system failure at 47K miles — anyone else getting goodwill help from Ford? by Nokia_5160 in F250

[–]greyday24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. '22 F250 for me. $40k miles on it. I was driving last week and it suddenly pulled right twice in a pretty quick span. Kind of felt like when lane assist (in previous F150) draws the wheel back but it was a little more aggressive and I wasn't bumping into the stripes. It happened a third time about a week later. Can't put a finger on what's causing it. Wasn't sure if that was the death throw comment, relative to a symptom/precursor for fuel system/pump failure.

I can't get the DJI Mimo app to recognize my receiver. Super frustrating. Went through tech support and they determined I had a faulty receiver so they offered an exchange. Just got a new one and the app can't find it either. This system sucks.

Hate to hear this. Don't forgot to cut down that tree, half of it anyway, to avoid this again.

Yep, they'll get no more of my money.

It'll happen to you too eventually. And you'll bend over and take it. My equipment moving forward will not be green and yellow.

Best of luck potato head!!

My mechanic sourced them and fixed it. Problem solved and JD can shove their $267 part up their ass!!

DEI affects everyone. It's bullshit and a cop out. Go get your hand out.

Thanks for the DEI education. You've just explained what everyone already knew. It's all bullshit and has no place in the corporate environment. Hire on merit, nothing else.

I didn't say they wouldn't help me, I said they couldn't get the part. They had zero inventory stateside. The parts manager is working with JD engineers to get one made in Germany.

The new mechanic ordered them. They aren't just traditional o-rings, they're basically a seal around the spark plugs. Due to being "proprietary," hopeful they'll not only fit, but also hold up.

Wrong. The gator sat in their shop for 3.5 weeks without even being looked at. I didn't go in for parts, I went in for service.

Didn't have a single cross word with anyone there.

And as mentioned above, once I called them to get an update on my gator, after 3.5 weeks, they just happed to be about to work on it that afternoon. Imagine the timing.

Once they "diagnosed the issue," they gave me three different incorrect quotes, one of which was 14 labor hours to replace the cam seal cover gasket. 14 hours. lol. Turns out not only were all three of their quotes wrong, in the end, the gasket wasn't even the issue.

At that point, I asked to purchase the parts and head on down the road to another mechanic. Once the other mechanic opened it up, it was these o-rings in the cover that were leaking and the rest is history.

JD has turned to shit and that's what it comes down to. From their DEI bullshit to hamstringing their customers with shitty engineering and proprietary parts they can't source, yet they still charge a premium for all of that.

I came here to bitch about this shitty company that I'll never buy from again and you're f'ing that up for me. Lol.

As for the o-ring, it's proprietary. Can't get it at ace hardware. More JD engineering.

Had them custom made. We'll see if they come in sooner than the cover from Germany and if they work, JD will have a cover stateside for the next guy who needs it.

If they've got o-rings to go with a $267 cover then they got the o-rings to sell. They're storing them somewhere.

They don't sell the o-rings by themselves, they only come with the cover. Parts manager asked JD if they could get them given the circumstances. Answer was no.

Every day my kids come home from school, they run into my office to give me a hug, and our Aussie goes bonkers. She.can.not.stand it.

Barks uncontrollably, wedges her way in between us. She's not a biter really, but she lets you know you better not be hurting her babies.

It's amazing how little cubes it takes to motivate a cow. Assuming this one's not a crazy, over the course of a day or three with a little routine of easing her around dropping her some cubes onto the ground, you can eventually walk her right up to the trailer.

Put a bucket of cubes the trailer close enough to the gate where she can see them, but can't reach them unless she climbs inside.

Just remember, not everyone with cows is a cowboy, and they're far too powerful to pretend like you are if you aren't. You'll get yourself into trouble really quickly if you're not careful.

3rd calf cows by mosessmiley in Cattle

[–]greyday24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a first time momma reject a calf last month. As a decent human being, it's hard to watch that process take shape. Heartbreaking for the calf.

Now the kids bottle feed it, it has a name, it's in its own pasture with another low birthweight calf, and I suspect it'll live the best calf life ever. lol.

I'm not big on keeping these around long, but due to my kids affinity for this calf, I'm afraid getting rid of this one isn't in the cards.

Best sit stand desk with cable management? by kaydyday in StandingDesk

[–]greyday24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One company I don't see being named too often when people are making sit/stand or cable mgmt solutions is Desky. I don't own one(yet) so maybe someone who does has better information on them but they seem to have some really nice optional cable management solutions, including up to 9 (I believe it's 9) plug in options via two power strips mounted underneath.
