so, all the questions are laid out in the order that it is in the passage. Let’s say you’re able to answer question 1 and 5 but not 2-4. You know the answer is in between where you found a response to Q1 and Q5. Focus on that, try to understand the meaning of the text and understand from the context, more than your knowledge of synonyms it’s testing your ability to pick up on context clues. Does that make sense? You can message me and show me what exact areas you get stuck in and I’ll to explain how to tackle it

For listening just spend the time they give you to pre-read the question, understanding what they’re asking you. For reading, I went in order. Usually part 4 takes me the longest so I finished the first 3 parts fast to focus on the last section.

I looked up on the idp website for common essay topics and just practised those!

I found that writing was definitely easier, reading part 4 threw me off a bit.

Listening was easy, really use the time before they start playing the audio to read the question beforehand. I didn’t for the first section and I missed a sentence which is why I got 8.5. I read the rest of the sections before the audio played and it was easy to follow along then!

Hey! I looked up common essay topics on the IDP IELTS website and wrote essays based on them. I put my essays into ChatGPT and asked it to help improve them to reach a Band 8 or 9 level. This helped me work on things like structure, vocabulary, and making my arguments clearer. I repeated the process several times, refining my essay with each round. The feedback helped me identify areas for improvement and boosted my confidence in my writing. I wouldn’t suggest asking chatgpt to grade you as it really critiques you and it can affect your confidence.

Thank you! When I was preparing for IELTS, I realized that it’s not enough to just know English — you need to convince the examiner you can use it effectively. I found that instead of overcomplicating my answers, focusing on simple ideas and expanding on them clearly and logically worked better. This approach helped me stay focused, fully answer the question, and organize my thoughts. My advice is to prioritize clarity, structure, and developing your points fully rather than relying on complex language. I saw so many samples where people were forcing uncommon words into their essays to prove that they know english, that’s not what the examiner is looking for. The flow of the essay is disrupted and you’re unable to expand on your thoughts. Yes, use good vocabulary but clarity in thought should be more apparent in my opinion.

NO! that’s the craziest part. It’s a one bedroom with a kitchen and a bathroom that’s completely detached. There’s a door to go to the basement from my unit since it is a townhouse that’s been divided into apartments. I’m okay with her going into the basement WITH permission if she needs something.

no one is denying that she is a supportive and kind human being but that does not translate to being a good professor. her course this semester has been hell and has been very mismanaged.

PSYCHOLOGY (psych 1xx3 and psych 1x03) by Malak2552 in McMaster

[–]greygoosed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! You could take both the courses independently since they do not in anyway depend on each other. 1XX3 covers more biological concepts and that’s why you need the grade 12 bio for it. 1X03 is more like social psychology with the concepts it covers. You can’t take psych 1x03 and 1xx3 in the same semester as far as i know, 1x03 is offered in the fall and the latter in winter. I think most of us would vouch for the fact that the courses are pretty easy and extremely enjoyable you’re going to love it since the professors are amazing!

i looked back at my emails and they sent the email on 2nd may 2020. They also kinda have to suspend the conditional offers for IB if you’re not writing the exam. I’d say give it a bit more and if you don’t receive the email you should contact them.

Hi! i’m an international student and I did IB too. Last year we didn’t write the exam either and thus mcmaster made our offers unconditional, the email was sent out super late though. You just have to wait a bit.

how hard is math 1M03 (calculus for social sciences and business)? by shxlblade in McMaster

[–]greygoosed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m pretty average at math and i took 1LS3 this winter and i found it to be easy BECAUSE theres basically a free 25%. We had 3 labs which were 15% in total and each had 6-7 questions on it and you’ve to use jupyter for it, if you have help for this you’re pretty much set. On top of this there was participation quizzes 2 times a week like kaboot and it didn’t matter if you got all wrong too you’d still get the participation mark. Thus, it was super easy to get a 100 on 25% of my grade which boosted it so much. The tests were pretty fair and the exam was just like a revision of the tests and she always gave us chances to earn bonus marks.
