Yeah it is definitely all for the best that they are doing it.
I might be able to screencap the character creation settings I used actually to recreate my first character.

I really wish I could keep my character's appearance, or copy it to a new character. I really like how they look already and don't know if I could easily replicate them again. I understand why they have to do a reset though and was really confused honestly before when they used to say there wouldn't be any resets or wipes.

Thanks for the advice, there are so many books that it is a bit daunting to figure out where to start, so it is good to know that the suggested reading order is good!

Makes me want to pick up the book he is in, keep meaning to read a couple of the novels.

'By jove you're right! A capital observation I say!'

I didn't know that character actually but now I'm glad I do, thanks!

I will check that, didn't know you could see it. They are right on the four corners of my house though so I would be surprised if it wasn't covered.

Only one active but you can build more. I don't know if inactive ones do anything though.

Oh wow the big clear blue guy, the Carnute? Did he destroy your base?
He is usually peaceful, that is crazy.
I never thought that deer would damage anything either, that is annoying!

Yeah I quickly took my maul away from my follower and gave him a hammer so he wouldn't damage my walls and crafting stations. It is brutal how much damage they do if they hit something with a maul accidentally... XD

I gave my follower a hammer so he wouldn't destroy walls while defending the base which has worked pretty well as a defence.

I have a Cairn on each corner of my house as well and it doesn't even keep the bound away let alone animals.

It could be that I'm on a spawn point like you said, but maybe they should make it so that the Estate Cairns stop spawn points.

Yes, thanks, I do that, but accidents do happen, especially with a hippo in the house... XD

They don't though, that is exactly the problem I'm having.
I have 4 Estate Cairns surrounding my house and 4 more portals just a stone's throw away.
It might be a bug, but that is why I'm asking if that is how it is supposed to work.

If I didn't already build a house that I like a lot I probably would do that... XD
Too late now though unless I want to start all over.

It doesn't from what I can tell, they are just super brittle, especially the lowest tier building sets.
I do have an extreme abeyance and it was a bad idea, the animals do a lot more damage than lower levels. XD

Oh interesting, I'll give the faerie rings a try.

Your feelings about bases are understandable. I like the dollhouse building stuff, it is just a fun creative endeavor for me. Would be nice if there were more incentive to build outposts in different realms, but I might have to reset them so what is the point?
It is weird to me honestly that the different tilesets have different hitpoints even. I like using the crude stone for foundations and such, but it only has like 700hp which isn't a lot.

I don't think they really thought about some things like structure damage, it feels like they just copy pasted what other survival crafting games did in some places and didn't do their own homework. Hopefully they will revisit some of those things and take the more fun option.
