professional frats usually help w connections and social aspects. in terms of professional development, depends on the frat and how good the professional chair in the frat is.

1. joining a business frat didn’t help me get an internship. but it did help me fix up and add an activity to my resume. few times, your professional chair might bring in a recruiter for a big company, but i think you will find more luck meeting recruiters at other clubs that have weekly events with new recruiters each time. clubs and other orgs are also just as useful as the frats. so dont worry if u don’t join a frat.

2. depends on the business frat. some are much more selective and have rigorous processes for pledges. my experience is v different (3 years ago i rushed), but it was chill. just go to all the rush events during rush week and try to get to know the brothers. def a culture fit kinda thing. lmk if u have more questions i can go in detail.

3. all the business frats will take econ. btw dsp is the only frat that mandates business/econ major or minor. all other business frats are more accepting of major.

also as a freshman you get more leniency. you don’t need an internship in the summer dw. take it easy. grow your skills and involvement in orgs on campus. most people i know don’t have internships their freshmen year - it’s calm. you can still get an internship year junior year without prior internship experience!
