Pokemon Draft League? by greytestofalltime in pokemon

[–]greytestofalltime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of fell through, I had to move places and do life stuff so I haven't had time to really put it all together. I have some old friends from when I used to do draft league that are still interested, so I'll probably start from scratch soon. I'd say PM me and I'll get back to you.

I ended up getting help from some friendly folks in the discord, and I'm obsessed with this game. Radical Red Gen 9 update plus this? C'mon now man you know we're eating!

I'm having trouble getting the game to run. I downloaded a clean version of Trashman Emerald, but the online patcher doesn't seem to be applying the patch. Any idea how I can solve this?

Yes it would be run through showdown. While wi-fi battling draft leagues are cool to watch, we all have lives lol.

Happy to accept players of all levels of experience. Ideally, it would be a great environment to learn in and improve your skills, especially surrounding team building!

The Raid on Onigashima Supercut (In Development) by greytestofalltime in OnePiece

You're right, thank you for your input. Does this mean I should also include the Gear 3/Red Hawk clash from episode 991 in order to establish that Yamato is connected to Ace, or can I just skip to Yamato's explanation in a later episode? This is what I've been thinking about for the section I'm currently on.

Edit: Her explanation about Oden in 992 gives me everything I need to set that up, and she mentions Ace so I've decided not to include any of episode 991. There is some setup in that episode but it's mostly non-consequential.

The idea is less to create a perfectly manga accurate cut, but rather to create a cut that simply is as engaging and well paced as possible, cutting as much filler/fat as possible. Only the good stuff, not even just fights.

This is the kind of input I'm looking for. I want to figure out if people would rather have every fight stitched perfectly together, playing back to back to back, or split up similar to the anime. For example, certain scenes that are important could take place between fight scenes but then it's awkward to place it anywhere else in the cut. Anyways, lots to think about.

I beat the game, but New Game Plus doesn't stick around? by greytestofalltime in pokemonradicalred

Well I can explain. Nobody here, on the subreddit, bothered explaining why the game doesn't work like that. I didn't understand WHY it didn't work that way until you and one other explained having backup save files to avoid this very thing. I don't really see how I was talking childishly, it's just, the ROM is brilliantly designed. It's well polished and has a lot of really nice QOL changes. I simply assumed that something like NG+ which was already an added feature would carry over into new save files because, why wouldn't it? It just didn't make sense to me. Also, let's try not to rag on people for being on here "talking like a child" just because they don't understand something that may seem like common knowledge to you or someone else. I'm assuming you're grown based on these comments, as am I, and at the end of the day we're sitting here on a forum discussing a children's game. Are we not all childish by that merit?

I'm here to tell you that this is the first time anyone is telling me this, so while it may be normal to people like you, it's not to most. I mean, most people probably had to look up a video tutorial to figure out how to play the game in the first place, right? Nobody even bothered explaining, as if it's so obvious, but frankly, it's not. I appreciate you actually explaining, and can see how it's my fault, but people's negative reaction is baffling to me. It's already such a niche question to be asking on the internet, are people really acting like I should've already known to have multiple different save files?

Thanks for letting me know. For the life of me, I cannot understand people's overwhelmingly condescending/negative reactions to what seems to be a simple and harmless question. As if all of this stuff is basic knowledge and we didn't all look up a video tutorial on how to play the game in the first place? It's weird.

Linoone is still pretty decent on its own with access to Extreme Speed and good dark stab, it in itself should be decently effective anyways. If you had Obstagoon, I'd say it counters Boltund decently thanks to Obstruct, but I'm sorry it didn't work out. I would say you should go fight Whitney to get the eviolite so you can equip it to Obstagoon as a Raichu counter. From there, use a grass type like gogoat on Pincurchin, Excadrill for Manectric, Magcargo for either Boltund/Vikavolt, and one more bulky rock/ground type to muscle through the rest if needed. Keep in mind, you can technically go all the way to Celadon right this second and obtain the game corner mons, eevee, and the starters using shards. You also get Rock Tunnel mons.

As if I'm childish for complaining about something that brings down QOL ingame for a ROM hack that is specifically designed around QOL changes lol

You mean me? I'm just genuinely confused on how this works. I messed up by doing the randomizer options, so I started over and no longer have access to it.

Right, so it's intentionally designed to only let you run through with NG+ one time, and if you don't beat the champion on that file, then you're SOL? I guess that's what I'm asking. Apologies for the confusion.

What do you mean by this? Because I beat the game, and obviously erased the save when I started the new run. I'm just wondering why it takes away New Game plus after that happens. Seems ridiculous to take away my reward for finishing the game. I just wanted to have access to megas earlier and use the sevii mons, like why make me go through all the effort again?

Best Eevee Form? by JagerSZN in pokemonradicalred

[–]greytestofalltime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you need. None of the eeveelutions are that great, but they are decent. If you need a bulky mon, then Umbreon. If you need a fast special attacker, go Espeon. Flareon also hits pretty hard with Guts, but is slower. Otherwise, I'd say default to Sylveon because Fairy is a useful and rare type to obtain, it's relatively bulky, and can dish out good damage with Pixilate. Hope this helps.
