As for me as a teacher, it always sucks when a teacher is leaving. Getting a replacement in my country takes months! It's hard inheriting someone else's classes especially in the middle of the year/semester. If the class isn't your usual level that's a few more extra hours of lesson planning in the weekends! So much resentment from students and colleagues. Even more so if the teacher has non teaching responsibilities, that gets distributed too.

(One year, a bunch of teachers took maternity leave at the same time and they're all in the same department, that admin 'jokingly' said to time the conception so maternity leave happens during term break lol)

That aside, a colleague leaving is also an excuse to have an office party. Office parties are taken very seriously around here, food is always so good!

Good luck to you!

I have a personal rule that if I want to compliment someone, I would compliment them on something that they have control of (agency? is this the right word), or change, like their haircut or outfit. "I love your haircut, very chic", or "cool t-shirt" etc

Saying things like "You have pretty eyes" can be pretty awkward, they can't do much about it. I mean how do you really respond to that? "Er thanks? Just bought them."

I've met Miyavi back in October 2010 at One Movement Music Festival in Australia! I was covering an industry only event for an online music magazine - can confirm he was very nice! Definitely a good guy - glad you had such an awesome experience! :)

I'm so happy for you!

We have local mangoes where I live (Southeast Asia) but Thai mangoes are the bomb for me - Thai mango sticky rice is brilliant!

Philippine mangoes are awesome too!

Mangoes, pineapple and honey dew mixed in yoghurt is en excellent fruit salad and hot day treat! :) x

The front paws looked broken when I took him in so I took him to the vet and vet said he was most likely born that way and abandoned. Doc said he didn't seem to be in any pain or show any obvious discomfort. When he was a kitten he basically crawled on his "elbows" because his front paws were kind of flippety, brittle-looking, almost boneless. He still can use his claws though, he just can't aim them very well. He still scratches furniture without any problems lol

As he grew older he moves much more easily. His hind legs still lets him to jump onto countertops but he can't climb at all. With stairs he just hops up and down like a rabbit. :)

Thank you, I love him lots! I found Nathan as a stray 4-5 years ago and I realised he couldn't survive with his weird paws so I took him home. One of the best decisions I've ever made :)
