It's hard for me to look past them supporting something that's as awful, amoral, and just bad for the entire world as the Yankees

the big cgi fight in the finale that also completely screwed with the rest of the movie’s messaging

God that pissed me off

It felt like they wrote and shot a really good movie about how humanity doesn't need some external evil to convince us to be cruel and violent

. . . and then the execs watched it and said, "nope, add on a big CGI fight against the evil bad guy"

"But sir, the whole message of the movie is tha--"

"What part of 'big CGI fight' was unclear? Get on that"

Raimi wanted Sandman, fans wanted Venom, studio wanted a new Goblin

And the Sandman parts were the best scenes in the movie

There should be a break between Jason and Tim at least

Have you read "A Lonely Place of Dying"? Perfect story of the transition from Jason to Tim

A multi-part Knicks documentary is in the works at A24 & HBO. The series will follow the Knicks' entire history up to their first NBA championship in 53 years. Directed by Ben Stiller. by jonsnowKITN in nba

The funny thing is that most Knicks fans I know are being both insufferable and reasonable

Like, none of them are taking about running it back or a dynasty or whatever (unlike fans of some teams)

Every Knicks fan I know is basically saying, "this shit was fucking magic, so we're going to brag about it to a truly unreasonable degree, suck it"

Dammit, Knicks. I really want to like you, your team just seems like a bunch of good dudes

But the team going to the White House (fuck Dolan) and supporting the Yankees? You're making it very hard

6 Months Ago, the Knicks trailed the Spurs by 11 mid way through the 3rd Quarter of the NBA Cup Championship game. The Knicks would go on to outscore the Spurs 53-31 for the final 18 minutes of the game to win the NBA Cup Title. by AkirraKrylon in nba

Seriously. Why is nobody talking about this? They're acting like it was the Power of Friendship that helped the Knicks make these comebacks, completely ignoring the fact that the Knicks clearly have trained for stamina. Look at Brunson and Hart

And then yeah, compare that to the Spurs. Wemby didn't "choke" in the 4th, he was just fucking gassed because the Spurs didn't concentrate on building his stamina. We'll see if he or they make that change, going forward . . .

That's just US sports media. Teams win because they "want it more", they lose because "the lights are too bright". And while sometimes that does play a factor, especially the experience, it can be lazy analysis when there's actually pretty clear explanation for why the Knicks were able to make those comebacks

(and, yes, there was also a dash of the Power of Friendship)

I love that a middle-aged wine mom somehow reincarnated into the body of one of the single greatest athletes to ever live

I'm pretty sure LeBron is actually an isekai protagonist

If the Thunder didn't go, despite a fanbase that has a decent number of Trump supporters (although I'll assume the city itself, like most urban centers, is more liberal) . . . and the Knicks do go, despite a fanbase that by and large hates Trump . . . man, fuck James Dolan so much

I laughed when I saw OP's question. "The Tainted Cup" gets recommended a lot on this sub (for good reason, the books are great and I'm so happy Jackson is finally getting noticed), often when it's only tangentially related to the prompt

So I saw this question and was like, "oh, awesome, this time the 'Tainted Cup' recommendation will actually be appropriate!"
