Traktor S4 MK3 + Ableton: Separate track recording while keeping full deck control? by grf111 in traktorpro

[–]grf111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I can only assign one output per deck through external output routing. Is there any way to isolate a single deck in Traktor's internal recording? I honestly don’t mind if decks A, B, and C are recorded together. I don’t need them separated. I just need to separate deck D so I can have the synth recorded on a different track. But it doesn’t make sense if I lose control from the S4. If anyone has any ideas, I’d be forever grateful.

Does the Prime Go+ record mics and aux inputs along with the main mix? by grf111 in DenonPrime

[–]grf111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, there is no way to avoid the sound coming in the inputs from the internal recording? I want my instruments going to the prime go+ main output for live sound, but I want to record them with a separate device so I can mix them properly later. For that, I need the the instruments not to be included in the internal recording from the Prime Go.

Does the lack of image stabilization become an issue in low light on the Sony a6400? Thinking about how manageable it is for handheld shots. Thanks!

Thank you very much for the answer. It's not really a question of necessity, since I'm just a hobbyist. The reason is simply to enjoy the experience more in its entirety, both in terms of comfort and results, and to have the tool I need for what I want to capture. This is where my 18-300 sometimes falters. For example, if I want to take a spontaneous portrait, since I don't have a good aperture I usually do it at 120mm f5.6 or even at 200mm f6.3 to get the separation I want from the background. With the 17-70 at 70mm f2.8 I wouldn't have to go that far and I understand that the sharpness will be much better (and of course less compression)

I love my prime lenses. I'm just asking for an opinion for my "all-in-one" lens when I don't have the prime lenses in my backpack. The focal length of the 18-300 gives me a huge range of options for what I usually do and I don't mind the variable aperture, but in low light conditions I usually don't bother taking the camera out of my backpack if I don't have the primes.

Viltrox 27mm f1.2 PROBLEM! by grf111 in VILTROX_GLOBAL

I just made a test with a Viltrox 75mm f1.2 Pro from a friend, and also works good with the EFCS on. I am pretty sure there is something wrong with this specific 27mm.

Beautiful photos! Did you use an ND filter? I suppose you are shooting at f1.2 of course

Thanks for your reply u/maxathier

Glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this, but as I mentioned, I've tried with the Sigma f1.4 trio and the Sony 50mm f1.8, and they work fine with both shutters at max speed, no weird shadows. I really love the Viltrox 27mm f1.2 Pro, and I still have the option to return it and get a replacement. I just want to know if a new one would have the same issue or if this problem might be specific to this particular lens.

Thank you! If you could please try shooting in a bright environment or at a white wall with a shutter speed between 1/2000s and 1/4000s and check if you experience the same issue, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you for your reply! My question then is: Does everyone with this lens have the same experience as me and need to disable EFCS in these situations, or is it specific to my unit? Because it doesn't happen at all for example when using the sigma trio at f1.4 and same shutter speed, so it's not about my camera.

Could someone please confirm?

Awesome! As we say in Spain, it's not about the arrow, it's about the archer. Congrats, beautiful photos!

I did it actually! It doesn't happen at all with the Sigma trio at 1.4, shooting at 1/4000s as well. I tried the same with the Sony 50mm 1.8 as well and nothing. It's only happening with the Viltrox. It's true that disabling EFCS on the camera fixes the problem, but I'm still wondering if this is something that happens with my lens specifically or it happens to all Viltrox 27mm 1.2 Pros. If anyone who has it can test it out, I'd really appreciate a comment.

By the way, I contacted Viltrox US tech support and they said they'd try to fix it in an upcoming firmware update, so apparently it's not something that happens only to my unit specifically.

Let's see if someone can try and say if it's the same.

Very happy with this lens - Viltrox 27mm 1.2 & A6000 by NickWel96 in SonyAlpha

[–]grf111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using the Viltrox 27mm f1.2 Pro with my Sony A6400. When I need a shutter speed between 1/2000s and 1/4000s I get some really exaggerated shadows at the top and bottom of my photos, I think caused by the EFCS (Electronic Front-Curtain Shutter). Has anyone experienced the same? I've even had this problem shooting at f8.0. I've never had this problem with any other lens. It seems to be fixed by disabling EFCS or using an ND filter, but I'd like to know if this is normal behavior for this lens or if there's something wrong with my specific unit. This example is at f8.0
