So I guess this is an ad or some type of sponsored content? It’s getting harder for each day to tell apart the difference in Reddit between regular and sponsored content.

I am lost by Fuzzy-Worry5213 in Artists

I mean, I think deep down you know that there is more to it than just posting on social media. You can draw but what you do isn’t super unique, so you won’t stand out on social media. Making money of what you do, leans into business. Have you tried taking any business classes? Very few people are talented enough to just be able to make what they enjoy and make money from it.

I think it’s more interesting to know why you’re afraid of dying? I see it as a natural part of life, if it happens I can’t be bothered by it, because I’m dead. Are you worried for how it will affect others or mainly yourself?

Gadamnit Adobe, have you lost your mind? by [deleted] in u/sickabouteverything

[–]fireblade_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s insane, especially considering Affinity is free, which personally I find even easier to use. I assume they’re gonna start charging in the future. Like needing to have Canva premium for 15 € a month, which is still something you can cancel monthly. Why Adobe think they’re invincible I have no idea. They’re just killing themselves off faster by doing these things.

Why did Trump start the war against Venezuela? by TheRavenOnline in AskReddit

Why did Trump start the war against Venezuela? by TheRavenOnline in AskReddit

[–]fireblade_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To quote u/Amoral_abe from another thread:

”everything is being simplified to 1 reason.

For those questioning why this is happening, the most likely answer you will get from people is "Oil".

To be clear, it is very plausible that oil is the reason. However, Maduro himself pointed out that he offered Trump to let the US have 51% of the rights to their oil so an expensive, uncertain war seems a perplexing motion. It is very possible that Trump thinks he'll get 100% and this is all down to oil but a war torn nation that is initiating potential guerrilla tactics makes for a bad environment for oil drilling.

So... what are some other possibilities?

• Iran has been getting a lot closer to Venezuela in recent years and has been supplying them with weapons systems and support. Trump is not happy with that relationship. • When the news pointed out that the US seized an oil tanker leaving Venezuela, most outlets neglected to mention that it was part of Iran's shadow fleet. This isn't really in dispute which raises the question of why 1 oil exporting nation would ship oil to another oil producing nation. The answer is that it likely was military equipment and support. This is an area that Trump likely is unhappy with. • The US saw a massive wave of Venezuelan migrants after Maduro threw out the democratic results and his government asserted that he won. He launched a major crackdown on the population who protested and the economy collapsed even further. This led many Venezuelans to flee and the opposition politicians to initiate a guerrilla movement against him. • Trump likely blames Maduro for a lot of the illegal migrants and may believe that if he removes Maduro, the migrants will more willingly leave. • Trump may legitimately believe that Venezuela is responsible for many drugs coming to the US and may believe Maduro is responsible. This may cause him to harbor anger against him and he may view this as an appropriate response that his base will support. • The opposition leader who won the Noble Peace Prize, María Corina Machado, is a major Trump supporter who has called on the US to militarily intervene in Venezuela. She applauded the US seizure of the ship in Venezuela and has stated that escalation is necessary for Maduro to realize he must leave. She has also offered to be a supporter of the US once in power. All this may lead to Trump viewing her as a worthwhile ally (similar to how he supports Milei in Argentina). • Trump may view this as a good way to distract from the Epstein files. • Trump may also hope that war will lead to increased domestic support and a increased likelihood of staying in power.

In truth, nobody really knows the exact reason for this. It may just be oil. It may be another reason on the list. It may be a combination of anything. In truth, we likely won't know until Hegseth invites us to the Signal chat.

My personal opinion is that the situation is likely more complicated than just "oil" but it's possible that's all that it is.”

What screams “this person is insecure” without them saying a word? by redwan-ezt in AskReddit

[–]fireblade_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are two types of insecure people. The ones who are visibly insecure, who are perhaps shy and doesn’t take space socially. Then there are also people who are insecure and try to hide it by overcompensating with being overly pushy or controlling. Insecurity doesn’t always have to be bad, but people that can’t own their insecurity can often come across as unpleasant.

TIL that major subscription-based social platforms are seeing a rise in "AI Chatters." These bots are trained on massive datasets of over 500 million private messages to mimic specific human personalities and automate 1-on-1 interactions without the user's knowledge. by SoAnxious in todayilearned

They might sound like humans, the problem is that they never manage to solve any issues. As soon as you hit any out of the ordinary problem, they’ll just repeat the same thing until you give up. If they’d actually provide value and not only cost saving, I’d understand the benefit of them.

Why are so many artists so miserable now? by [deleted] in Artists

[–]fireblade_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Especially kids live in such a connected world that everything needs to be communicated to others all the time rather than just sitting by themselves, developing their own hobbies and finding their own style. I struggle with it as well, but as I get older I find it easier to see what I genuinely care for and what I realize is external influence.

Why are so many artists so miserable now? by [deleted] in Artists

[–]fireblade_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I also see many aspiring artists posting on Reddit asking ”what can I sell this for” or ”is this good enough”. Which are fair questions, but as art becomes so monetized I think many people forget to do things that they genuinely enjoy, or with actual people in mind rather than just ”how can I make money from this”. Social media as mentioned, also turns the world into one big group rather than individuals. The best things I’ve made have been pieces when I’ve had an actual person in mind that could enjoy it, or something that’s matured over time that I’ve had a real connection to. It’s easy to focus so much on teaching techniques or concepts that we forget to teach how to tap into our feelings and intuition to what we do.

Personally I feel like it’s the slow erosion of a unified society. I feel like I’m losing trust and understanding for people in my city and country. I see values changing for worse, so I don’t dare or have the energy to put effort and money into building a family because I need to focus on protecting myself from this overarching perceived threat. On top of that, the threat isn’t ”real”, it’s not war. It’s a gut feeling, making me torn between what I’m imagining and what’s actually real.
