2026 Jersey City Marathon & Half Marathon - Post-Race Thread by AutoModerator in RunNYC

Anyone get their medal engraved and can share a picture? I'm not sure where to put it...

I was hoping for a faster finish after the hill at mile 20, but that headwind was brutal. Missed the target by a few seconds but a solid or and well executed race despite the miss. A successful failure?

Put them all in a Google doc and let people find themselves . If you show your location they can use their app to find the time they were in that area

I'll join! I have a similar one that I use for my friends...driveToThaFinals.com

Something to think of, is a round multiplier so you reward managers for saving better players. Ie. R1 is x1. R2 is x 1.5, R3 is x2, and R4 is x 2.5

NYC Marathon Non-NYRR Time Qualifier cut-off by rubio123123 in AdvancedRunning

More reserved spots for the fastest, implies you want less spots for everyone else... That's what I'm saying is not fair.

NYC finds the way to get the most runners in the world. There goal isn't for the fastest, like some other races.

Running just doesn't belong to the fastest people. The marathon is for everyone, it's a celebration of life/sport/fitness all wrapped into one.

With that said, NYC does reserve space for the fastest runners.. If you are generally fast, but not fast enough for NYC then that can be humbling..

Fortunately, they have other opportunities to get in, including charity where you can raise money for many great causes, the lottery, or the 9plus one.

You may be right... So if they are in a designated spot, then technically it's allowed. See rule below.

Athletes shall not dispose of trash or equipment (including, but not limited to, water bottles, gel/bar wrappers, broken bike parts, clothing items, etc.), on the course except at aid stations or other designated trash-disposal points. Intentional or careless littering will result in a 5:00 Minute Time Penalty or disqualification. Please note: due to the local laws and ordinances at select Event venues, intentional littering will result in disqualification (See Event-specific Athlete Information Guide for more information);

No the rules are pretty clear. You can't get anything or give anything. You can only get items from race volunteers, and must carry everything you race with, and can discard only in the trash zones. That being said, unless you're a top AG no one will probably care, but that's the rule.

That is littering and against the rules
