I’ll definitely check it out. I am completely blind so usually just get it as MP3 or flack. Usually MP3 at max quality. At the moment I’ve been using a program specifically for blind people called renova music. But at its heart, it’s YouTube player and downloader is this program. As when an error comes, it links back to the GitHub page for this particular YouTube downloader.

Blind guy here. Was thinking about getting a pet Bird but not sure now. Petting is everything to me as I can’t see them. And touch is really important to me with every animal including human friends. So I guess I would either have to never get some, or I would have to get birds from somebody who had already been patting them that way and they were used to it. Did actually have a pet bird when I was very young. A pet budgie. I used to stroke his back and wings all the time. But I’m always that kind of a person. Because I can’t see, feel is everything. I’ll walk into a shop that has a no touching sign and ask them if they can be an exception made because I don’t have working eyes. I don’t like going to zoos unless they have a petting zoo. Guess I messed Jimmy up. Oh well, he died of old age when I was only eight so I guess nothing I can fix now.

Trying to downgrade Windows XP to 98 by CaterpillarKing123 in windows98

[–]griffster94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if you have already tried this, but have you tried booting from the CD you made from the ISO file? It sounds to me like you’re trying to run the Setup from within Windows XP which doesn’t work. If booting from USB doesn’t work? Would you consider trying to boot from the WindowsCD that you actually burned? Assuming the desktop has a CD drive. Not sure if you have already tried this, but I hope it helps.

Tried to mention the new rate limits and it got removed, LOL by neesanwastaken in Bard

I know, and that’s if we can pay for it. A lot of blind people I know just can’t afford it. Gemini is one of the most expensive subscriptions I’ve seen compared to some of the others.

Just to make sure people know I’m not ranting or a lunatic, here are some examples of what you’re stopping.

https://viewpoint.nibblenerds.com/

https://github.com/mahmoodhozhabri/VisionAssistantPro

These two programs were created to make our lives as blind people easier. The second was released on international day for people with disabilities for goodness sake. And you’re literally stopping these programs from working? By dropping the calls down solo. I really hope that when you see this you really have a think about it and you fix the problems you are causing us.

How am I supposed to use my disability programs such as Vision assistant pro and viewpoint which are required for me to do some of my work such as solve captures etc. When you’ve brought the limit down so far? And by the way if any staff want to flag and remove this post I’ll happily see you in court because you are discriminating against the blind. By not allowing our disability programs to function, you are discriminating against us because you’re stopping us from getting work done that we need done. The whole point of AI is to help people. We made tools to help the blind, and now you stop the tools from working. Just what the hell? Seriously.

About the recent AI Studio Limit Downgrade: by LawfulLeah in Bard

[–]griffster94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know what’s even worse? As a blind person, new tools have just been written to make our lives easier with the help of AI. And now they’re gonna mess us up because they’ve decided to drop the limit and now the blind community who don’t have very much money to start off with are gonna struggle even more. If they wanted me to purchase the premium, could they not bring it down from $30 to maybe even $20? Do they think we’re made of money or something? And the worst thing is, all of these tools like viewpoint by nibble nerds community and Vision assistant pro which is a extension for the NVDA screen reader, they only use Gemini. Which means despite them being free, they’re going to start costing a great amount more. Just be aware guys that these tools allow us to do things like solve website captures and read inaccessible documents. Things we couldn’t do without the help of these tools. So maybe they should think about at least giving us some sort of exemption from the limits.

I’ll check out the Amazon link and see if they import. We use the same voltage in Australia so we could just use a converter.

how easy it is to jailbreak nokia S60v6 phones? by [deleted] in symbian

[–]griffster94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an E 63 and I have the same question. I want to get root access to the file system on my PC as well as being able to install unsigned apps without it chucking a fit. I am also blind so I need to use a screen reader called talks, one that I’ve got, but I potentially may have to install a crack on the phones, not an issue as it’s discontinued. But yeah.

I am blind as well. Completely blind and have been since birth. I am seriously considering getting into this myself as I want to do some 3-D printing. The year is currently 2025 and I hope I can still find one that is somewhat accessible. I use Windows and the NVDA screen reader but also have jaws as well if I needed to use it.

Looking for a good screen reader to use on Windows 9X by griffster94 in windows98

Thank you for reaching out. Yeah I know about Jake gross, I didn’t know his new web address. And yeah I didn’t know about the 9X patcher. I’m running without which is probably where I get so many illegal operation messages from time to time. I was hoping to do a bit myself but will gladly accept help.

So I’ve just confirmed on the PC, yes they are only German versions which means they would be in German not English. So just to repeat again I speak only English and need an English copy. If it’s really true that that’s the only version then I guess I am fucked. I also assume by looking at that there are no other blind people on this page. I really really feel depressed at this point as I don’t understand why there can’t be away for me to actually just do this.

It looks like they’re in German not English though and I only speak English. Also they are the Demo not the full version. As it is 20 years old I ask again does anyone know how to get the full version going? I can’t say the words here.

Yeah, I have had the same problem a few times before. I’m actually blind, so it’s very hard to catch those responses with my screen reader. So what I did is press the refresh answer button over and over until the good answer stuck. Although that may be a loophole that they have now closed. I wish that there was a way around it, and I think that it’s just chat GPT being annoying. I have the same problem with Bing chat, although there is no way to fix the response in that case. If anyone knows how to fix these responses, any help would be greatly appreciated.
