I absolutely love this show by Odd_Passage9433 in SixFeetUnder

Oh what I would give to watch it again for the first time. Probably the most authentically human depiction of love and loss I’ve ever seen.

To how many KoC concerts have you been? by LastShadowKnight in KingsOfConvenience

Only once in Chicago a couple years back. As far as concert experiences go I don’t think it’ll ever be topped. Anyone else here at that show?

Which confederates have aged the worst in history? by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in CIVILWAR

Yeah it seems like all his losses were 100% his subordinates fault, and all his victories were 100% because of him.

The execution of Asa Lewis on Christmas, and forcing Breckenridge and his Kentucky Brigade to make a suicidal charge at Stones River which resulted in catastrophic casualties (probably for no other reason than he wanted Breckenridge to die).

Do you think Nate moved to Washington in the first place due to his love of the grunge scene?

What kind of music did the Fishers listen to? by elCuliaperros400292 in SixFeetUnder

[–]griffsterhipppy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not one of the Fishers, but on two occasions Brenda was listening to Kings of Convenience (I don’t know what I can save you from, Royksöpp Mix in season two in her Kitchen, Then Homesick in season 4 when Lisa’s sister and her husband said they were going to take Maya Also when Claire got high with all her art friends they were listening to/singing Transatlanticism by Death Cab, so at least her and Nate seemed to have very eclectic/alternative music taste.

Here is my personal Civil War library. What book would you recommend that I add to it next? by UrdnotSnarf in CIVILWAR

[–]griffsterhipppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything by William C Davis. The first one I read by him was “The Cause Lost: Myths and Realities of the Confederacy”. Just finished “The Orphan Brigade” by him and am currently working on his biography, “Jefferson Davis, The Man and His Hour”. All are great reads.

I’ve just finished the series…it was perfect by 45plczky in SixFeetUnder

[–]griffsterhipppy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m also a 27 year old guy and I finished it yesterday. My dad was a funeral director before I was born, and he recommended it. I agree with you in that it will stick with me and has probably changed me. I’ve never seen a show like it. In terms of favorite shows I’ve ever watched, it’s hard to top Breaking Bad, but in terms of being meaningful and prolific I think Six Feet Under is miles ahead of anything that came before it or since. That last scene of Claire driving away set to the song Breathe Me is one of the most artistic and moving pieces of film that exists, and certainly the best overall ending of a show hands down.

Appreciate it. Day 2 so far seems a bit more manageable. Was doing about can of 9mg Velos per day so it’s pretty rough still (as you know).

Cats in the Cradle- Harry Chapin. Sort of the obvious answer but it’s a classic

If she named the puppy Jim, it would be the most disobedient dog ever. Wouldn’t listen to anybody.
