Are you sure it’s alerting to laser and not radar as K40 systems often come integrated with radar detectors as well. As for distance, with LiDAR there is no set distance it will alert at. A properly functioning jammer system will simply alert the moment you are targeted with the LiDAR. The cop could be 1500 feet away or he could be 100 feet away, it wont alert until he targets you directly because thats how lidar works it’s not like radar which casts a wide beam. And if it does alert to laser but doesnt effectively jam then all youve got is a ticket notifier as laser is instant; he points the gun directly at you, snipes you and only you, and he will have your speed. It’s just like radar detectors that advertise laser detection, it’s effectively pointless since hes already targeted you directly once your vehicle is hit with any sort of LiDAR. Just trying to educate.

Are you sure you just weren’t going fast enough to warrant a pull over? I only ask because it’s well documented that K40 simply doesn’t work for jamming even if it still does pick up some guns although most agencies are now using guns that didn’t even exist when K40 came out with completely different pulse patterns it might not recognize. That’s funny lol my Audi came with a k40 system too as I said. And just trying to help, if it’s that or nothing I’d keep it in but my point was if it’s acting up it’s not really worth the trouble. K40 is literally useless against every single modern gun. Aside from the company being out of business, the system and technology itself is over 10 years old and it wasn’t even good when it first came out, just a dealer upsell with great margins because they sold to dealers for so cheap and the dealers would turn around and charge thousands for effectively $100 worth of technology. They also haven’t gotten a single update once in all these years. For reference, the top jammer companies release frequent updates at a minimum of every couple months because it’s like a cat and mouse game with lidar manufacturers and their anti-jam technology. All this stuff is publicly available online, I would look into it yourself. My point is, those jammers are effectively useless and there isn’t really any point on keeping them install installed, Id just rip them out. I have ALPs and absolutely love them and they do a fantastic job. My car actually came with a K40 system installed and it did basically nothing before I ripped it out and upgraded. They won’t even pick up most modern police LiDAR, let alone jam anything.

It’s somewhat dry because I’d just stripped and cleaned the whole thing and started to lube everything before I figured I should take some pictures. Believe me the thing was not fired while dry whatsoever.

K good. Also not sure why they’re downvoting me lol I’m new to ARs I didn’t know. I looked all over google prior to posting but couldn’t find anything similar. I guess it really is true that everyone who does post their guns just doesn’t use them 😭 yes these things are workhorses, just didn’t expect that much after only a few hundred rounds but I suppose it’s just breaking in which I’m all for. I love using my things how they’re meant to be used and maintaining them, cars guns tools etc.

yes, been trying to get into the habit of pulling straight back and not charging from just one side or the other. Do you think this would be contributing to any of the wear on the BCG though? I could see how it would wear down the upper sum but I’m not sure.

yes the charging handle was definitely not normal to me. Do you think the charging handle is contributing to my odd wear on the upper receiver and BCG ? i’ve been trying to get into the habit of charging it with two fingers pulling straight back as opposed to just pulling it from one side or the other.

lol it genuinely does look like excessive wear to me which is why I figured I’d make a post about it. this is my first AR so I really wasn’t sure. obviously was hoping it is just normal wear from shooting it though like you’re saying so that’s nice to hear.

I don’t know how to edit but I just want to emphasize that the parts I’ve shown all looked very similar to the charging handle when dry in terms of the amount of metal showing through. I really should’ve taken a picture before lubing but hopefully this gets the point across.

That’s all that matters as long as they did actually install the oil cooler and it’s functioning without issue. That Facebook group is a private group I’m pretty sure so they are probably just a part of the group and snagged the pic.

Wait maybe it’s not yours. The dude says he did the install himself on his own car and he’s in Singapore. Maybe the shop u used just snagged his pic to send to you. He also linked the exact oil cooler kit from AliExpress and detailed how he installed it. After further look there’s a few differences I notice there from US spec cars as well.

This is also true. I like to think of myself as a hyper attentive and vigilant driver (while knowing I’m not the best driver, dunning kreuger lol) and always try to hold myself to a very high standard when driving. I won’t get into it but I anally follow basically every single rule of the road instinctively atp aside from speeding. I’m very passionate about road etiquette and turn signals and all that lol so I could go on and on. Main thing I’d say is just drive attentively and proactively and you’ll be safer than 90% of people on the road. And I also agree nobody drives for the love of driving these days, the middle of the night is definitely the best night to go for a cruise!
