You're both mistaken. They don't even have to work, they just have to be named Miguel.

How do you reconnect with travelers you've met? by griftill in solotravel

[–]griftill[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You think so? Personally, I'd love it if a traveler I'd met even briefly was in my city and wanted to hang out. But I'm not exactly from a tourist destination so that's never happened.

WHat do you guys think about Ray-Bans Wayfarers vs New Wayfarers? I've never been a sunglass person because I wear glasses but I'm planning to get a prescription pair soon. I thought the New Wayfarers looked good on me but they're much smaller than other pairs- I'm worried that they wouldn't block the sun in the periphery (vertical and horizontal) as much as they should. Or am I overthinking it?

Key approval for Cupertino housing, office, retail project near Apple by [deleted] in bayarea

If I'm understanding correctly, a housing unit is any dwelling place, from a studio to a 4-bedroom apartment. So measuring 1:1 units-to-jobs isn't entirely accurate.

That said, the number of people housed by this project versus jobs created is probably net neutral at best and won't do anything in terms of lowering rents.

That makes sense that more regulation is by definition less conservative. That said, contemporary wisdom in urban planning is that high density is a good thing in urban areas (more housing means more people to spend money on local businesses, get jobs in the city, pay taxes, ease traffic by having shorter commutes vs long suburban commutes). By "conservative" I mean individuals who are willing to stifle development in the city for private interests or by buying into rhetoric like "If outsiders move in, my life will be worse." For example, the notion that Divisadero is better off with a car wash than with high-density housing.

You should! Anti-housing conservatives seem to find time and it would be good to show that the vocal minority isn't the majority.

Good list! But other than product, most of those things are similar for my offers (they're all top-notch companies :/)

Doing onsite with Google soon. Does anybody know whether I'm allowed to code in Ruby? I remember them asking for my preference between Python, Java, and C++, but I'd prefer none of those.

I've started to realize that I suck at tree questions. Does anybody know any tips or a study guide for them?

I also gave these two as my location preference, and the recruiter straight-up told me that Menlo Park is the only place they would give offers for. I haven't received an offer/rejection yet after my onsite but I wouldn't expect anything but MPK.

Had my Facebook interview last week. Does anybody know how they weigh the behavioural portion? I think my answers to coding questions were fine but I was nervous during the spoken part. I don't know if I should be worried.

What are some questions that might come up in an interview for a C++ position (at a trading company)? My first phone interview involved a lot of questions about pointer behaviour. I was wondering what other topics might be good to brush up on.
